According to 9to5mac, leaked iOS 14 code suggests that Apple is developing a Catalyst version of the Messages app.

Since 2011, iMessage has gained several new features, including extensions, stickers, and message effects. However, all of these features are not available to Mac users, as macOS still uses the basic version of the Messages app, which can only send and receive standard messages.

However, leaked iOS 14 code indicates that Apple is developing a Catalyst version of the Messages app, which means that Apple intends to introduce a fully functional version of the Messages app from iOS and iPadOS to macOS.

The Catalyst Messages app is expected to be included in the next version of macOS, which will also be pushed to developers in June.
