SKC Semiconductor Equipment Recycling Project Settles in Wuxi to Accelerate Domestic Layout

As global semiconductor giants accelerate their strategic layout in China, it is expected that by 2022, the wafer production capacity in China will exceed 2.06 million wafers/month. In response to the rapid growth in demand for semiconductor equipment recycling in China, SKC plans to invest in the construction of a semiconductor equipment recycling production base in Wuxi High-tech Zone.

SKC is a subsidiary of the SK Group, a Fortune 500 company in South Korea, and is the largest integrated film manufacturer in South Korea. SKC Solmics, a subsidiary of SKC, is the largest semiconductor precision ceramic manufacturer in South Korea, and is also one of the largest semiconductor equipment recycling manufacturers in South Korea.

According to Wuxi Daily, the establishment of the semiconductor equipment recycling manufacturing project of SKC, the world's largest semiconductor equipment recycling manufacturer, has positive significance for improving Wuxi's semiconductor industry chain, enhancing the competitiveness of the semiconductor industry and comprehensively expanding strategic cooperation with the core companies of South Korea's SK Group.

Integrated circuits are an emerging industry with representativeness and competitive advantages in Wuxi Hi-Tech Zone, and there have been continuous reports of new progress in projects this year.

It is reported that in April, SK Hynix's second factory project was completed and put into production. In early June, the first batch of lithography machines for the 12-inch production line construction project of Huahong Wuxi Integrated Circuit R&D and Manufacturing Base (Phase I) entered the factory. In addition, in November, Hitech Semiconductor signed a contract with South Korea's SK Hynix for Phase III, which will also be located in Wuxi High-tech Zone.
