According to foreign media Letsgodigital, LG’s new design patent was recently exposed, showing a screen that can be "rolled up" and can be used for mobile phones or TVs.
It is understood that as early as October 2018, LG Display applied for a "rolling screen" design patent to KIPRIS (Korean Intellectual Property Office). The patent was published in June 2019 and showed a device about the size of a smartphone.
As can be seen from the patent drawings, the screen of this device can be rolled up for easy storage; if you need it, you can unfold it completely. Letsgodigital also designed a rendering to better show this device. From the patent description, it is not clear how the screen is fixed; foreign media said it may be a magnetic design, and the fixed design can prevent the screen (or part of the screen) from unfolding and causing scratches on the screen.
Finally, foreign media also stated that LG's "rolling screen" can not only be used in mobile phones, but also in TVs.
