LG's rollable phone has reportedly been listed in a database on a South Korean operator's intranet. According to Twitter tipster @Cozyplanes, the device is currently registered in a South Korean operator's internal database. The model number of the device is LM-RN910N, while the unlocked version has the model number OMD-LM-R910N.
Previous rumors have suggested that the specs of the LG rollable phone include a 7.4-inch expandable screen with a resolution of 2428×1080 pixels (20:9), a video resolution of 2428×1366 pixels (16:9), and a productivity mode of 2428×1600 pixels (3:2).
Furthermore, the LG rollable phone is rumored to have a 4,200mAh battery inside and be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 processor and 16GB of RAM.
Cozyplanes also revealed details about how the device works. The device can be unfolded on both sides, increasing the screen size by up to 100%. However, the top middle frame will not expand with the device. LG will add a flexible middle frame that can expand to cover the exposed edges of the screen and then retract when the phone is closed.
LG is not the only company developing technology with scrollable displays. Samsung, TCL, OPPO and other manufacturers have applied for patents for smartphones with scrollable displays.
