Hainan Mobile and HNA Airport Group cooperate to build a 5G future airport

According to the Hainan Daily, yesterday (20), HNA Airport Group and China Mobile Hainan Company signed a "5G Future Airport" strategic cooperation agreement in Haikou, and launched the first batch of 5G pilot application projects released by Hainan Province-Haikou Jiangdong New District Airside Industry 5G Demonstration Project.

At present, Hainan Mobile has opened 5G signals in the waiting hall of Haikou Meilan International Airport, Haikou Aviation Tourism City and other areas. The next step will be to plan and build more than 50 5G base stations in the three major airports of Haikou Meilan, Sanya Phoenix and Qionghai Boao, and build them into "5G network boutique demonstration areas" within this year.

Since the first 5G base station in the province was opened on November 16, 2018, Hainan Mobile has completed the deployment of hundreds of stations across the province, mainly concentrated in Haikou, Sanya, Qionghai and other areas. By the end of this month, 5G will be available in every county in the province, which can meet the needs of most 5G users to try out new 5G technologies.

"According to the plan, Hainan Mobile will complete the deployment of more than 800 5G base stations across the province by the end of this year, achieving full 5G coverage in the core urban areas of Haikou, Sanya and Boao. It is expected that most of the urban areas in the province will be covered next year, which will satisfy the 5G experience of most users in the province and make 5G accessible to ordinary people," said a relevant person in charge of Hainan Mobile.
