Saiteng Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Saiteng Micro) announced that the main control MCU chip ASM87F0812T16CIT, which is tailored for automotive LED taillight flowing turn signals, has passed a series of on-vehicle tests and certifications by well-known domestic automobile manufacturers, with shipments exceeding one million units.
As a chip and solution provider focusing on the automotive electronics field, Saitengwei said that the successful development and mass production of this MCU marks a breakthrough in the industrialization of domestic MCUs in the field of automotive front-end body control.
Saitengwei's ASM87F0812T16CIT is a high-performance dedicated MCU specially customized and developed for automotive LED taillight control. The chip is manufactured using an automotive-grade 0.11um embedded flash memory process that has passed ISO/TS16949 certification. It has built-in full-temperature and full-voltage high-precision (<±0.3%) clock oscillator, edge capture PWM, and highly reliable Data EEPROM and other dedicated circuit modules, making the LED taillight pipeline drive control simpler, the presentation effect more perfect, and the synchronous visual recognition more distinct.
ASM87F0182T16CIT took three years from chip design, wafer production, packaging testing to solution development, debugging, and then to vehicle debugging and certification. Among them, the various reliability tests (aging test, EMC test, and power-on temperature cycle test, etc.) to meet automotive-grade applications took nearly a year. After a series of rigorous automotive-grade tests and verifications to mass production, the cumulative shipments have reached one million so far.
In addition to car front-mounted taillights, Saitengwei is also working with well-known automobile manufacturers to develop electronic control solutions for applications such as car breathing lights, ambient lights, and matrix headlights. It is expected to achieve mass production in the second half of this year, and shipments will also have new breakthroughs.
Dr. Huang Jipo, General Manager of Saiteng Microelectronics, said that every process from the development and verification of automotive electronic chips to the procurement of vehicle manufacturers is difficult and requires repeated testing and verification. Even if a product is found to have a problem, all links must be checked from beginning to end to find the root cause and take effective solutions. The entire control process is quite strict, but Saiteng Microelectronics has always been working hard towards the goal of localizing automotive electronics, working closely with partners in the upstream and downstream industry chains, and finally the clouds have cleared and the moon has appeared. The company will take this as an opportunity to continue to deepen its presence in the automotive "core" field, and at the end of the year we will also launch products in other application areas for the original equipment automotive market.
