As two of the "Big Three" console game companies, Sony and Microsoft's fans in the gaming field are not sworn enemies, but at least they are not on the same side. After all, the competition between PS4 and Xbox One is much more direct than that between a certain "world ruler".

However, there are no permanent enemies in the world. According to the news revealed today, Sony and Microsoft announced that they will cooperate to solve the problems of future entertainment. Sony will build cloud service solutions in Microsoft Azure to support its game and content streaming services. As for Sony's existing game and streaming services, they will gradually be transferred to Microsoft Azure in the future.

Sony's currently unstable cloud service is expected to improve significantly after the cloud service is transferred to Microsoft. For example, problems such as slow download speeds for digital games are usually not a problem for Xbox users. After the service is transferred to Microsoft's data center, Sony can focus more on building its own platform, leaving technical problems to Microsoft.

In addition, the two parties will also cooperate in the field of artificial intelligence. Sony and Microsoft will jointly develop image sensor solutions and combine Microsoft's AI technology with Sony's advantageous image sensors to improve user experience.

Judging from this cooperation, it is actually cross-cooperation between businesses of different departments of large companies. Although there is direct competition between the two, they will also face common opponents at the same time.

For example, Google, which has extensive experience in cloud computing and AI, launched the Stadia cloud gaming service this year, which I believe has put some pressure on Sony and Microsoft.

In addition to the cooperation, Sony's own cloud gaming service Playstation now and Microsoft's xCloud cloud gaming plan are also being carried out in full swing, preparing for the upcoming gaming revolution.
