According to foreign media reports, the iPhone 6S series may be removed from the list of devices that can be upgraded to iOS 13. To be more precise, this means that models equipped with the A9 processor will be abandoned.
Similar news has been reported before. Last week, foreign media reported that iOS 13 will cut off compatibility with previous generations of iPhones and abandon support for iPhone 5s, iPhone SE, iPhone 6/6 Plus. As for iPad, devices previous to iPad mini 2 and iPad Ai will not be able to install iOS 13.
In fact, if iOS 13 abandons the iPhone SE, then it can be basically concluded that Apple will abandon the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, after all, both are models equipped with A9 processors. In this case, the entry-level iPhone 7 will be supported by iOS 13.
As Apple's best-selling models, the consequence of letting iOS 13 abandon support for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S series is that more users may update their devices. Of course, Apple also wants to concentrate its efforts on adapting existing models.
It is reported that unlimited forward compatibility will make the software system too bloated and messy. iOS App development also needs to constantly adapt to new systems and new models. If the old system is taken into account at the same time, it will cost more, and Apple is unable to control it. Therefore, it is reasonable for iOS 13 to accelerate the abandonment of old models.
At WWDC 2019 in June this year, Apple will release the iOS 13 system. Judging from the current updated details, the new system may usher in a dark mode, as well as a new sliding input method, and the system fluency will also be improved.
