OPPO's Shen Yiren talks about the "glue-dispensing door" of Meizu 16s and Xiaomi 9: friendly companies speak out

Recently, the founder of Shenzhen Aisisheng Network Technology Co., Ltd. @楼斌XYZONE revealed that the Meizu 16s had a "glue-sealing incident" - the SoC had no glue sealing, causing an uproar.

Meizu founder Huang Zhang’s response was: “Trust Meizu, they won’t cut corners. If you take the phone apart and find that there’s no glue, I’ll compensate you with two!”

Afterwards, Meizu sent staff to Shenzhen where @楼斌XYZONE was located to investigate and resolve the Meizu 16s sealing incident. The final conclusion was that the 16s in @楼斌XYZONE's hand was a rare case of sealing leakage during production, which was a special case. Huang Zhang's measure of one-to-two compensation for the Meizu 16s devices without sealing would be implemented.

The "glue-sealing incident" of Meizu 16s has aroused consumers' interest in whether other mobile phone manufacturers' models have glue sealing. So @楼斌XYZONE disassembled several mobile phones and found that the SoCs of iPhone XSM, vivo X27, iQOO, Meizu 16s, and Huawei P30 Pro all have glue sealing, while Xiaomi 9 does not.

So the focus of the "glue gate" shifted from Meizu to Xiaomi.

Regarding the "glue-dispensing scandal" involving Meizu and Xiaomi, OPPO Vice President Shen Yiren shared his views, saying:

"From a production perspective, modern industrial products will definitely have a certain degree of "defective rate" and "service life". When problems arise, just solve them responsibly. It is impossible for competitors to deliberately not use glue. It is still not easy to make a product in the current market environment. If you like it, just support it boldly."

Judging from Shen Yiren’s remarks, not only did he not attack Xiaomi and Meizu, but he expressed his understanding. He is truly a breath of fresh air among the executives of mobile phone manufacturers and deserves our praise.
