Keysight Technologies, Inc., a leading technology company that helps enterprises, service providers and governments accelerate innovation to connect and secure the world, announced that the 5G New Radio (NR) conformance test cases jointly developed by the company and Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, have been recognized by the Global Certification Forum (GCF) for the first time in the industry. These test cases are mainly applicable to radio frequency (RF) demodulation and radio resource management (RRM) in non-standalone (NSA) mode in frequency range (FR) 1.
"We are pleased to announce another industry-first test case for 3GPP RF demodulation and radio resource management," said Muthu Kumaran, senior director at Keysight Technologies. "With this test case, device manufacturers can launch 5G devices based on the latest 5G NR specifications and be confident that they will function properly in the next generation of mobile networks."
The 5G RF/RRM Conformance Test Toolset is part of Keysight's 5G Network Emulation Suite of Solutions. It enables mobile operators, chipset and device manufacturers, and test labs to validate the performance of new devices in FR1 and FR2 throughout the entire workflow, from early design to acceptance and manufacturing. The suite also leverages the strengths of Keysight's UXM 5G radio platform, giving testers early access to a wide range of test cases on a common platform.
"We are once again achieving significant industry breakthroughs by collaborating with 5G technology leaders like Keysight," said Prashant Dogra, vice president of engineering at Qualcomm Technologies. "By having early access to GCF-validated test cases, device manufacturers and mobile operators will be able to ensure a superior 5G experience for end users."
Qualcomm Technologies used Keysight's 5G network emulation solution to successfully demonstrate the world's first 5G PC based on the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 8cx 5G compute platform at Computex in June 2019. Computex is held in Taipei, Taiwan, and is a major global ICT and IoT event.
