In the past two years, AMD and NVIDIA's GPU graphics cards have become very popular due to mining. Faced with the temptation of the mining market, Intel can no longer sit still and has long launched mining ASIC chips to grab the market. Now they have reached the second generation. The latest news has revealed the price of their mining machines, which is half cheaper than Bitmain's Antminer.
As for Intel mining chips, there are currently two generations of products, namely BZM1 and BZM2. Intel positions it as a "blockchain accelerator", which utilizes the encryption technology, hash technology, and ultra-low voltage circuit technology that Intel laboratories have researched for decades. It is not only very small in area, but also extremely energy-efficient. It is said that the energy efficiency ratio of SHA-256 algorithm mining performance is more than 1,000 times that of mainstream GPU graphics cards.
The BZM1 mining chip has been shipped. The mining performance can reach 40TH/s at a power consumption of 3600W. This performance is still a certain distance away from the current mining machines. However, the BZM2 mining chip is also here, using Intel 4 process. Although it looks like a "4nm" process, it is actually Intel's 7nm EUV process. Next year's 14th generation Core will also use this generation of process.
There is not much specific information about the BZM2 mining machine, especially the selling price has not been announced, but it has now been exposed by Intel mining machine customer GRIID. The latter disclosed the specifications and prices of its own products because it is going to be listed.
They mentioned a mining machine product called "New Mining Machine", which is believed to be an Intel BZM2 mining machine with a performance of 135TH/s, which is higher than Bitmain's S19 Pro. The price is US$5,625, about RMB 35,500, which is about half cheaper than the S19 Pro's US$10,455.
Due to its strong performance, high energy efficiency and half the price, the system based on this mining machine can achieve an annual gross profit of 200 million US dollars, easily exceeding 1.2 billion yuan, while the S19 Pro is only 87.1 million US dollars, a huge gap.
