It is true that technology changes our lives.
When we were young, we lived in an era without remote controls . If we wanted to turn on the TV or turn off the lights, we had to walk thousands of miles to operate them. At that time, I thought, how nice it would be if everything had a remote control. With the continuous advancement of technology, we are no longer satisfied with the state of having remote controls all over the house. I also thought, how nice it would be if all controllers could be integrated and operated directly. Now, this staged dream has finally come true.
Recently, a smart home product called Knocki can do all this. It can be attached to any surface and can turn all physical surfaces into remote switches, and can control all smart devices that can be connected to the Internet through Wi-Fi.
An entire wall, tabletop, or cabinet surface can be turned into a control surface. When you fix Knocki to a wall, bedside table, or table, its internal accelerometer can sense the user's tapping on the surface of these objects. Not only that, it can also calibrate itself based on environmental data, and can perform different functions when sensing different tapping methods, such as tapping twice to turn on the light, tapping three times to turn on the TV , and so on.
Knocki can connect to WiFi, so in theory, it can connect to most smart devices, such as Nest, Philips Hue smart lights, Spotify and Wemo, etc. The battery used inside can achieve a battery life of up to one year.
Before using this device, you need to connect the smart device and its companion application (supporting Android and iOS devices). Knocki will soon be available on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, and its crowdfunding price is US$59 (approximately RMB 382).
