On February 28, according to Korean media ETNews, Samsung plans to mass-produce the Bot Fit wearable robot in mid-2024, and the first batch of production is estimated to be less than 100,000 units.

Samsung showcased and launched the assistive wearable robot GEMS Hip exoskeleton wearable device in 2019. It is an interesting Samsung Health accessory for fitness enthusiasts, but it is actually more of a medical device to help people with mobility impairments rehabilitate.

It is reported that the robot can be worn on the hip joint and can provide the wearer with more than 20% walking power when walking, and the walking speed can be increased by 10%.

The robot is certified to the international standard ISO 13482, ensuring safety. Samsung has also developed the GEMS robot, which can be worn on the knees and ankles.

Samsung GEMS Hip was originally designed for medical use, but the company later expanded its use to include general sports products. Wearing the robotic device and walking around can produce the effects of PT rehabilitation training. Samsung Electronics is expected to launch two GEMS Hip products in the future, one for sports and one for medical use.

Since the debut of GEMS Hip, there has been no news about this exoskeleton wearable device for a long time. The latest report from Korean media said that Samsung completed the commercial development of GEMS Hip in 2023 and renamed it Bot Fit.

South Korean media reported that Samsung began trial production of Bot Fit in the second/third quarter of 2023, and plans to announce or sell this assistive robot in the fourth quarter of 2024.
