On September 24, Samsung officially released the industry's first 0.7μm pixel-level image sensor GH1. This image sensor can accommodate 43.7 million pixels in an ultra-small package size. Before this, Samsung launched a 64-megapixel image sensor and a 100-megapixel image sensor, but the single pixel size of these two is 0.8μm, which means that the single pixel size of GH1 is smaller than these two, and in the future it will be able to produce sensors with more than 100 million pixels.
Generally speaking, on a sensor of a certain size, the more pixels there are, the more prominent the problem of crosstalk between pixels will be. Correspondingly, in photos, the noise will be more obvious. Therefore, if you want to make a breakthrough in the number of pixels or sensor size, you must continuously reduce the size of a single pixel.
In addition, the GH1 is able to accommodate this number of pixels on such a small sensor size thanks to Samsung's latest ISOCELL Plus pixel isolation technology, which Samsung says can minimize color crosstalk and optical loss.

In addition, the Samsung GH1 can support 4K video recording at a resolution of up to 7968×5480 and 3840×2160. At the same time, the GH1 also supports EIS anti-shake and high-performance phase detection autofocus (PDAF) technology. Finally, the Samsung GH1 will be mass-produced by the end of the year at the earliest.
