Note: In this report, mobile includes AGV and AMR, which are generally known as AGV robots in China.
AGV--Automated Guided Vehicle, also called AGV car;
AMR--Autonomous Mobile Robot, is similar to AGV, but it does not require external infrastructure such as magnetic strips, guide rails, and QR codes.
1. Global AGV/AMR Market Size
In 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic is still spreading around the world, but as the pandemic becomes normalized, the global supply chain is gradually recovering, and the demand for unmanned warehousing and manufacturing triggered by the pandemic is also beginning to emerge. GGII data shows that the global AGV/AMR market size in 2021 is 21.55 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 43.28%.
GGII believes that in the short term, although the global economy has been severely affected by the impact of the epidemic, it has prompted companies to rethink their operating strategies and find new and efficient production operations, which will have a certain positive impact on the demand for AGV/AMR, and this impact will be long-term.
In addition, rising employee wages and large-scale employee absenteeism caused by the epidemic have forced companies to seek new technical means to cope with the dilemma of labor shortage.
Although the global economy faces great challenges in 2022, affected by multiple factors such as the epidemic, geopolitics, and war, the supply chain continues to be under pressure and delivery also faces great difficulties. The growth rate of the AGV/AMR market has declined in the first quarter, but market demand orders are still showing a sustained growth trend. The market performance for the whole year is expected to be better than before the epidemic. In 2022, the global AGV market size is expected to exceed 28.5 billion yuan, with a growth rate of more than 30%; it is estimated that by 2025, the global AGV market size will exceed 75 billion yuan, and by 2026 the market size will exceed 100 billion yuan, with a compound growth rate of more than 35% from 2022 to 2026.

2. China’s AGV/AMR Market Size
2021 continued the high prosperity of the manufacturing industry in the second half of 2020. The added value of manufacturing was 26.64 trillion yuan in 2020 and 31.38 trillion yuan in 2021, an increase of 17.79% year-on-year, while the growth rate of the tertiary industry was only 10.45%. The growth rate of GDP in the same period was 12.84% (at current prices). The contribution of manufacturing to the national economy has become increasingly prominent.
GGII data shows that China's mobile robot market experienced explosive growth in 2021, with overall sales reaching 63,769 units, a sales growth rate of more than 57%, and a market size of 7.812 billion yuan, a growth rate of more than 50%; among them, the sales growth of fork-type AGVs and material box AGVs both exceeded 100%.

3. Product sales structure analysis
Mobile robots (AGVs) can be roughly divided into six types according to their product form: AGC, lurking type, transfer/heavy load type, box type, fork pick-up type, and compound type.
GGII data shows that lurking robots dominate the AGV market, with sales of 40,015 units in the Chinese market in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 52.26%, accounting for 62.75%. Among them, KIVA-like AGV sales were 33,756 units, a year-on-year increase of 46.26%, accounting for 84.36%.
In 2021, the market share of transfer/heavy load, fork-pick, material box, and composite robots all increased, among which transfer/heavy load and fork-pick increased the most, from 7.18% and 8.67% in 2020 to 8.18% and 11.57% in 2021, respectively. In comparison, the share of AGC declined significantly, from 15.04% in 2020 to 11.49%.

4. Enterprise share analysis
In 2021, mobile robot companies performed well overall, with most companies seeing order growth of over 100%. GGII data shows that the overall concentration of China's AGV/AMR market is not high, and it is still a competitive market, with CR10=53.65% (i.e. the combined market share of the top 10 AGV/AMR manufacturers is 53.65%). Hikvision Robotics has a domestic market share of 19.88%, making it an absolute leader in China; followed by Geek+, with a market share of 8.15%; the market shares of other AGV manufacturers are all below 5%.

Note: 1. The sales volume here is calculated based on the number of goods shipped out of the warehouse by the enterprise, and only the domestic market sales volume is counted. Export sales are not included in this statistical scope. 2. The statistics here do not include the inspection robot category.
Overall, in 2021, the global sales of Hikvision Robotics and Geek+ have exceeded 10,000 units; in the express delivery/e-commerce field, Geek+ and Quickcell are the main representatives; in the manufacturing field, magnetic AGVs are mainly represented by Siasun, CSG Huaxiao, Oukei, and Jiateng, but some of these companies have begun to deploy new products such as AMR and forklift AGVs; AMR manufacturers are mainly represented by Hikvision Robotics, Geek+, Jiuwu Interconnect, Stand Robotics, Jiazhi, Lingdong Technology, UAI, BlueCore Technology, and Huarui Technology. The market base is still small, but the growth is rapid.
