The mass production time of the low-priced version of Vision Pro has been postponed to after 2027 for some time.
Guo Mingchi said that this means that in 2025, Apple’s new head-mounted display device will only have a Vision Pro with an upgraded processor to M5.
Guo Mingchi believes that the main reason why Apple delayed the mass production of the low-priced version of Vision Pro is that simply lowering the price cannot help create successful use cases, just like after HomePod sales were not as expected, even the launch of the low-priced version of HomePod mini could not make Apple's smart speaker a mainstream product.
DigiTimes and other industry sources have previously claimed that Apple is looking into using lower-resolution displays for a lower-priced version of its Vision Pro spatial computing headset. The Elec claims that Apple has obtained OLED display samples from Japan Display (JDI) with a pixel density of about 1,500 pixels per inch (PPI). This is significantly lower than the 3,391 PPI display currently used in the Vision Pro.
