September 19, 2024 – Mouser Electronics, a well-known New Product Introduction (NPI) agent dedicated to driving industry innovation, announced that it will cooperate with Silicon Labs and Arduino to sponsor the 2024 Matter Challenge . This competition has no skill threshold. Participants of any skill level can use the Arduino Nano Matter development board provided by Mouser to create their own unique projects and provide design inspiration for the Silicon Labs community and other communities. The competition will last until October 31.
To participate in the Matter Challenge, participants need to create a Silicon Labs community account and then create an original project based on the Arduino Nano Matter board. The judges will evaluate the depth, potential impact and innovation of the entries.
The Arduino Nano Matter development board is powered by Silicon Labs' powerful MGM240S microcontroller. Arduino Nano Matter seamlessly integrates Matter, the advanced IoT connectivity standard, and can be adapted to the different needs of hobbyists and professionals. With a small size of only 18 mm x 45 mm, the Nano Matter development board is ideal for energy-saving projects that require connectivity options such as low-power Bluetooth and OpenThread®. The Arduino ecosystem has a rich set of peripherals and inputs/outputs that users can use to enhance device connectivity and project functionality.
The winner of the Matter Challenge will be announced on November 7, 2024 and will receive $500 in credits from Mouser.com. The winner will also be recognized at Silicon Labs' Works With developer conference and receive a pair of Bose headphones and other prizes. In addition, all participants will receive a three-month membership to the Novel Bits Bluetooth developer training course.
