At the conference, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger introduced the upcoming Sierra Forest (using energy-efficiency cores, or E cores) and Granite Rapids (using performance cores, or P cores). processor progress and shared its views on the related server processor market.

Gelsinger said that Intel has submitted the final samples of Sierra Forest to users; and the production progress of Granite Rapids processor is faster than the schedule, has entered the power-on verification stage, and is currently in good condition.
Regarding the market share of the two Xeon processors, he said that most companies will still use Xeon processors with high performance P-core design this year and next. For Sierra Forest, which uses energy-efficient E cores, Gelsinger believes that compared to Granite Rapids, it still lacks performance and functional support, and is more targeted at the mainstream cloud server market that focuses on TCO.
In addition, for the second-generation energy-efficient E-core Xeon processor Clearwater Forest, Intel CEO said that this Intel 18A process product has entered the wafer factory.
According to previous Intel official statements, the Sierra Forest Xeon scalable processor based on the energy-efficient E-core design will be launched in the first half of this year, followed by the Granite Rapids processor based on the high-performance P-core design.
