The latest report from market research firm Jon Peddie Research shows that global GPU shipments reached 119 million units in the first quarter of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 38.78% and a slight decrease of 3% from the previous quarter.

Calculated by overall GPU shipments, Intel's market share reached 68% in the first quarter of 2021, taking the lead; AMD ranked second with a market share of 17%; followed by Nvidia, with a market share of 15%.

In terms of discrete graphics cards, Nvidia has a global market share of 81%, and AMD has the remaining 19%. According to JPR analysts, by 2025, discrete GPU shipments will account for 26% of the overall GPU market.

According to the financial report released by Nvidia last month, benefiting from the rising cryptocurrency mining craze and the severe shortage of graphics cards, revenue in the first quarter of fiscal year 2022 (ending May 2, 2021) increased by 84% year-on-year to US$5.66 billion, setting a new single-quarter record.
