According to the Nikkei report, multiple sources told the Nikkei Asian Review that Huawei is worried that company insiders may cooperate with US intelligence agencies to leak secret data, so it is reorganizing executives and researchers with ties to the United States.

The United States has long accused Huawei of spying and has called on its allies to boycott Huawei's technology and equipment, but until now, the US government agencies have not been able to provide evidence to prove their position. In fact, the US authorities hacked into Huawei's servers to steal emails and source code. In March this year, Huawei sued the US government for this.

Recently, another source revealed that Huawei is actually worried that there are American "spy" employees within the company.

According to reports, multiple sources revealed that after the United States imposed sanctions on Huawei, several Huawei executives in senior R&D positions, including Asian Americans, have left Huawei or been transferred.

According to one source, “some of the departures of U.S. executives were partly due to Huawei’s concerns that U.S. intelligence had been in contact with some of its employees in the U.S. ... The company was concerned that other senior executives with U.S. citizenship or residency might also have been in contact with U.S. intelligence.”

The source also revealed the names of several executives who have recently left Huawei. One of them is Wang Hsin-shih, the head of Huawei's technology development team in Taiwan. Wang has connections with Silicon Valley and recently left Huawei.

Another source confirmed the resignation of Huawei employees and said that Huawei's Shenzhen headquarters is very worried that Huawei executives and R&D personnel with ties to the United States will be "easily influenced" by U.S. government personnel and leak confidential information.

Due to the Trump administration's ban, Huawei fired at least 70% of the employees of its US subsidiary Futurewei, citing "business reduction" as the reason. Huawei's investment in the United States also plummeted from US$29 billion in 2017 to US$5 billion in 2018, and this figure will continue to decline. Sources said that considering the "hostile relationship" between Huawei and the Trump administration, Huawei has done its best to prevent its confidential information from being obtained by the US government.
