If student life is the best form of youth, then the first two years from campus to work are the best form of youth. When we just graduated, we were all still energetic young men. After work, the biggest change in life was that we really started to do things that could change the world as a worker, and showed the people around us what young people of this age should be like in their own way. Young people not only look fresh, but also do things without hesitation. With great looks and reliable strength, I think this is the best form of youth, just like the Lenovo ThinkBook 14s, a new PC brand product we saw today.
I have published a review of ThinkBook 14s some time ago. To sum it up, its appearance is in line with the tastes of young people today, and it has many professional business qualities that other fashionable and thin notebooks do not have. It is a very good experience to use. It was an accidental decision to use ThinkBook 14s as my main office machine, and it came from a WeChat message from a female colleague.
ThinkBook 14s
It was late at night, and my female colleague sent me a WeChat message: Are you there? I was eating chips, drinking Coke, and playing games, and suddenly I felt complicated. Could it be that spring is coming? I took a sip of Coke, swallowed the last handful of chips, and replied: Yes, not busy. Female colleague: How do I activate Office on my newly bought computer? This is an easy question, I replied: Do you have a Microsoft account? If not, register an account first, log in to the webpage and register with your email, and pay attention... I sent the full-screen operation steps with satisfaction. The female colleague immediately replied: It's so complicated, you can help me remotely. I instantly felt complicated again. My desktop computer is at the company, I don't have a laptop, I only have a PS4. The next day, the female colleague's Office had been activated. It was operated by the guy sitting next to me, and it was said that he provided on-site guidance. So, I used ThinkBook 14s.
Well, I made up the story, but I really use ThinkBook 14s. Next, I will share with you my experience of using it during this period.
01 It turns out that work can be so simple
To be honest, the ThinkBook 14s is much better looking than the business notebooks we usually see. The titanium gray and silver color scheme is particularly youthful, the overall design is very simple, and the three-sided metal body feels very good. In addition, the ThinkBook 14s has a unique five-section hinge and corners based on the shoulder eaves design, which is beautiful and practical. I won’t go into details about the appearance, you can read the review. Next, I will talk about the experience of using the ThinkBook 14s at work starting from turning it on.
Three-sided metal body with minimalist design
Because it has been reviewed before, ThinkBook 14s stores my fingerprint. After I pressed the power button and took my hand away, ThinkBook 14s started, and recognized my fingerprint on the login page and entered the desktop. Note that when I logged in, I did not touch the fingerprint recognition , so why did it recognize the fingerprint? ThinkBook 14s uses a power button integrated fingerprint recognition design. It is not a simple physical integration, but also optimized at the logical level. The logic of the traditional power button integrated fingerprint recognition design is: press the power button to turn on-wait for fingerprint recognition-recognition success, enter the desktop. The logic of ThinkBook 14s is: press the power button to turn on, collect fingerprints at the same time-the login interface reads the collected fingerprints-recognition success, enter the desktop. In this way, I only need to press once to complete the two operations of power on + fingerprint recognition, while other notebooks with similar designs require two operations. This design of ThinkBook 14s is extremely convenient and makes a good start for a day's work, hehehe.

My main job is typing, so I pay a lot of attention to the keyboard. The keyboard of ThinkBook 14s feels very good, typing is not tiring, the rebound is also relatively responsive, and it is comfortable to use. Although it cannot be compared with an external keyboard, there is nothing wrong with it. The touchpad is also very easy to use, of course I still use an external mouse. However, I use the touchpad more often during meetings, it is very smooth and responsive.

When it comes to meetings, I have to mention one thing: Skype for Business hotkey. I often attend conference calls, and the two most used software are WeChat and Skype. I use the latter more because my clients are using it, and I can't do anything about it. In fact, Skype is very easy to use, especially when there are multiple people on the phone or video, the signal is very stable. Since I used ThinkBook 14s, I have been looking forward to someone using Skype to send me a call or video invitation, because ThinkBook 14s has built-in Skype for Business hotkeys, which are answer and hang up. As soon as I saw the Skype notification, I pressed the answer button and the call was connected. The operation is so fast and simple, and you don't even need to move the mouse, which is extremely convenient.

If the above three points made me realize that work can be so simple and direct, then the battery life performance of ThinkBook 14s gave me a sense of freedom. When I used a desktop computer, I had no concept of battery life in my head, and I would laugh at my colleagues whose laptops ran out of power after being out for half a day. Now I take the ThinkBook 14s on a business trip for a whole day, and when I return to the hotel at night, there is still about 30% power. I don’t have to worry about the laptop running out of power or not being able to find a socket. After I’m done, I can go wherever I want to go instead of rushing back to the hotel. This feeling of freedom is great. The ThinkBook 14s has such a strong battery life because it has a built-in 45Wh large-capacity battery. The software test lasts for 5 hours and 18 minutes, and it can last for about 10 hours in actual use, which is very durable.
Battery life can last up to 10 hours
Of course, privacy issues during business trips are very important. Every time I go to a hotel, I first have to check the room to make sure there are no hidden cameras. Although I weigh 180 kg and I don’t look good naked, it’s always better to be on guard in case someone has a special taste. Laptop cameras also need to be guarded against, after all, there are many news reports of hackers using laptop cameras to take private photos. After using ThinkBook 14s, I don’t have to worry about this problem, because ThinkBook 14s uses ThinkShutter, which is a physical switch for the camera. It directly covers the camera, and no matter how powerful the hacker is, he can’t get it.

Since I started using the ThinkBook 14s, my daily work seems to be less hectic. Many things have become much simpler. I don’t have to enter a password every day when I start the computer, and my desktop is no longer a mess. It is also easier to go out for meetings or temporary business trips. I am also willing to accept business trips... Many things that used to bother me are now easily solved and simple. Changing to a good notebook has really made a big difference.
02 A young office notebook with surprisingly good audio-visual experience
The advantages of ThinkBook 14s are not only in work. ThinkBook 14s is light and thin, and it is stress-free to carry around. In the past, I spent most of my time playing games when I got home. After I got the ThinkBook 14s, I found that in addition to console games, the life of a fat otaku also includes movies, TV series, ghost stories, etc.
Lightweight and thin body for easy carrying
As a mainstream thin and light notebook, ThinkBook 14s adopts a narrow bezel design on both sides. The screen bezel is relatively narrow, and the screen-to-body ratio looks quite impressive. The screen quality of ThinkBook 14s is also worthy of recognition, with a 14-inch IPS screen, standard color gamut, and 180° flip. I can sit and watch movies, lie down to watch TV series, and lie down to watch ghost videos, which is endless fun.
Narrow border design on both sides
In addition, the speaker performance of ThinkBook 14s is also very good. It is equipped with Harman speakers and supports Dolby sound effects. The external speaker performance is satisfactory. Although it cannot be compared with independent speakers, the effect is already at a good level in a notebook, and it feels good to watch TV series.
ThinkBook 14s has a core combination of i7-8565U + Radeon 540X. The i7-8565U is very familiar to everyone. Its performance is excellent and it is the best choice for thin and light notebooks. Radeon 540X is relatively unfamiliar to everyone. It is an independent graphics card launched by AMD for thin and light notebooks. Its performance is similar to that of the 8W version of MX150. In addition, ThinkBook 14s also has 8GB of memory and 512GB PCIe SSD, so the storage is also quite impressive.

Before using ThinkBook 14s, my evenings were occupied by games, cola, and potato chips. Although I liked them, they were really monotonous and my weight was out of control. After using ThinkBook 14s, although my life is still a stay-at-home lifestyle, it is much richer and more normal than before. Movies, TV, and music have become my new hobbies.
03 Life is no longer like a written script
This may be the feeling of being young, facing work positively and enjoying life in various ways. My life used to be simple and monotonous, but after using ThinkBook 14s, I began to try things I had never thought of before, such as trying to introduce my ideas to everyone in meetings instead of keeping silent; on weekend afternoons, instead of staying at home playing games, I took my ThinkBook 14s to Starbucks to surf the Internet... In the past, life was a written script, but now the next page of this script is blank, and the pen is in my hand.
