The SYNIOS® P1515-based 3D compact taillight and through-type taillight displayed by ams Osram this time contain 295 P1515s. Compared with traditional LEDs, its aperture structure is thinner and the light is more uniform (similar to the effect of OLED). When the LED driving current is 50mA, it can achieve a surface brightness of 1500nits and a central light intensity of 40cd. In addition, the solution integrates all functions of driving, control, light source, and heat dissipation, providing a one-stop solution for car manufacturers.

◆ Independently driven and controlled 10,000-pixel LED headlights - Eviyos 2.0® high-pixel projection headlights
Eviyos 2.0® high-pixel projection headlights are based on Micro LEDs and can control 25,600 pixels. According to on-site engineers, the luminous area is 40 square millimeters, which contains 320 columns and 80 rows of LEDs, and each unit can be controlled individually. "We plan to expand this light source downward and provide customers with lower-power luminous options," said Jin Yuqing.
◆ Meet the narrow and long design requirements of headlights - 15mm ultra-narrow lens high and low beam module

At present, narrow and long appearance has become one of the popular trends of car lights, and there is also such a demand for high and low beams. In response to this, ams Osram launched a 15mm ultra-narrow lens high and low beam module. "Now more customers may require 10mm or even smaller lenses, and we can also achieve this function." Jin Yuqing said.
In addition to the above, amsosram also demonstrated innovative solutions such as RGBi and SYNIOS® 2222 grille light demo. These solutions not only meet basic functional needs, but also use color and dynamic effects to enhance the personalized expression of vehicles, leading the fashion trend of automotive lighting design.
Interior ambient lighting
In-car ambient lighting is a lighting system designed to create a more comfortable and personalized driving environment. At this ALE exhibition, ams OSRAM exhibited RGBi light panels, side-emitting OSIRE® E5515 in-mold injection indicator light Demo, smart skin RGBi ambient lighting, smart cabin matrix reading light, RGBi Demo, RGBi ultra-thin interior ambient lighting and other solutions, which can achieve intelligent control and high-sensitivity lighting design.

OSIRE® E3731i intelligent RGB LEDs from ams and OSRAM can control hundreds of them simultaneously, and each product has a built-in driver and control IC that can communicate efficiently with the microcontroller through the SPI interface. At the same time, ams and OSRAM also provide an open communication protocol (OSP) for the OSIRE® E3731i product. With OSP, the microcontroller can send instructions to each OSIRE® E3731i and obtain status, achieving high-precision color calibration and temperature compensation.

Excerpts from the interview:
◆ Mr. Jin, could you give us a brief introduction to the new trends and directions of automotive lighting at this stage?
Jin Yuqing: In terms of exterior lighting, the pixels of headlights are getting higher and higher, which is very user-friendly and fashionable. As for signal lights and taillights, thinning is a major trend. In terms of interior lighting, the importance of ambient lights is increasing, and the demand for customization is increasing.
◆ What measures has your company taken to reduce costs?
Jin Yuqing: Cost reduction can be achieved in various ways: 1. Through technological innovation, for example, the light source can be made smaller, the cost can be lowered, and the luminous flux can be increased. This is a cost reduction solution. 2. Deepen localization and strengthen cooperation with local suppliers.
◆ The Chinese automotive industry is changing very quickly. What are the main images and challenges in the lighting field?
Jin Yuqing: First, with the emergence of new energy vehicles, customers have increasingly higher and more diverse requirements for new technologies, such as intelligence, interactivity, personalization, etc. Secondly, the terminal price of automobiles has been falling, competition is fierce, and the pressure of price reduction is bound to be passed on to suppliers.
◆ In recent years, intelligent interaction has become a major trend in new energy vehicle lights. In addition to taillights, many companies have begun to explore adding personalized interactive images to the front grille, etc. However, the application volume is not very large at present. What do you think is the reason behind this?
Jin Yuqing: Currently, the main issue is cost. A seemingly simple image requires thousands of LEDs, which are relatively expensive.
◆ In the past two years, some car companies have been promoting more high-end lamps. What is the current growth rate of high-end lamps?
Jin Yuqing: High-end car lights such as DLP are definitely a development trend, but the cost is also relatively high. Currently, it accounts for less than 1% of the market, but there is a lot of room for development.
From our perspective, Micro LED will be a trend. Since three years ago, all new European models have stopped using DLP, and all new research and development are Micro LED technology. In China, because the market is developing too fast, Micro LED did not have SOP three years ago, so we see that NIO and others are using DLP, and we will see that they will be more inclined to Micro LED in the future.
◆ Your company demonstrated an autonomous driving warning light in accordance with European regulations. Has this type of headlight been discussed in China?
Jin Yuqing: China has its own ideas when formulating standards. As for application scenarios, autonomous driving is not yet fully accepted. When the light is on, pedestrians may not understand what it means. Therefore, the application situation in China is not clear yet.
◆ Now some car lights have both adaptive high beam and projection function. Is this possible by integrating several products together?
Jin Yuqing: Yes, this type of product is more adaptive, including adaptive high beam and projection headlights. In addition to the light source, this system also requires a very complex algorithm system. It may use sensors to capture the outside scene, and then use signal analysis to know whether there is a car or person on the opposite side, and then control how to open its ADB.
◆ For headlights of the same technical level, will their costs vary greatly due to different design complexity and appearance?
Jin Yuqing: Not very much, because for a lamp, its cost is nothing more than its particle cost, structural parts, mechanical parts and other supporting costs, and labor costs are basically the same, and the difference will not be very high. If the materials used are different, the difference may be greater.
◆ Some companies are now integrating car lights and lidar together. What do you think about this?
Jin Yuqing: It is true that some major domestic car lighting manufacturers are researching this, but the technology is quite difficult. LiDAR involves not only transmission, but also reception, and signal processing after reception, which is a very complicated thing. In the past, car lighting manufacturers were only responsible for lighting. If LiDAR is integrated into it, it means data analysis of the entire environment outside the car, and all aspects of intelligent algorithms will become very complicated, and the investment will also be huge.
