Bumpy B-U585I-IOT02A review, BLE [Copy link]

This post was last edited by littleshrimp on 2021-10-2 14:15

Finally IAR 9.10.2 is downloaded, and I can finally download the BLE_AT_Client example. The download and run speed is still very fast, and the experience is much better than eclipse IDE.

However, after downloading, I found that this BLE routine could not be used. From the serial port output, it should be that the microcontroller sent data, but the module did not respond, or the module did not receive the data sent by the microcontroller.

The most troublesome thing is that this BLE module is relatively small, and it is a bit difficult to test whether the data is sent under STM32WB5MMG.

I have used many ST development boards and feel that the possibility of software problems is small. Could it be a firmware problem?

According to the manual, I plugged the USB into CN12, and then no matter SW3 was switched to SYS (while using ST-LINK for power) or USB, the device manager could not detect that there was a USB device plugged in.

Is it possible to enter DFU mode through some pin? After looking at the schematic diagram, I gave up.

No, if there is U1B, there should be U1A. Later, I finally found it. Sure enough, BOOT has a pull-up resistor R3. As long as I find this resistor, can I control BOOT0 to enter DFU mode?

This is my first time using STM32WB5MMG. I searched the following documents but could not find any information about how to set the BOOT0 pin.

DS13252 Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 and 802.15.4 module

PM0223 Cortex-M0+ programming manual for STM32L0, STM32G0, STM32WL and STM32WB Series

PM0214 STM32 Cortex-M4 MCUs and MPUs programming manual

PM0271 STM32WB BLE stack programming guidelines
measure the voltage across R3, the left side is 3.27V, and the right side is 0V, which means that if BOOT0 does not enter DFU mode by default, then shorting R3 should be able to enter DFU mode.

Because the normal STM32 also operates in this way, let's give R3 a try. Although this board should be returned intact, for the sake of experiment (tweezers have been used to short-circuit it many times), let's do it.

Short-circuit R3, switch SW3 to USB, no response when USB is plugged in, switch SW3 to SYS, plug in J-LINK power supply, insert USB into CN12, still no response.

I regret it. Why don’t I take my wife and kids out to play with the board during the holiday? Let me check the time again. 20th, 20th, 20th…

I'm starting to doubt myself. Maybe I should burn some incense before playing board games?

This Bluetooth is not fun, the module needs to upgrade the firmware, and then the protocol stack, before it can be used normally   Details Published on 2021-10-31 22:57

Is it because the firmware is not the latest?

Or it is not suitable to play this during the National Day holiday. There will be a solution in a few days.

Hey? You are using IAR 9.10.2? Can you share the censored files and methods? I have been tinkering with it for 2 days without success, hahaha
