On March 19, Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Managing Director, CEO of Terminal BG, and Chairman of Smart Car Solutions BU, issued a document announcing that all Wenjie models have been upgraded OTA, and M9 has also unlocked the urban NCA function that does not rely on high-precision maps, so that Wenjie can fully All series models have completed the evolution of urban NCA. Yu Chengdong said: "Whether it is a highway, an urban expressway, or an urban road in a large or small city or even a town, Wenjie Auto can handle it as easily as an 'old driver', not only making everyone's driving more comfortable, but also safer! This OTA The upgrade also unlocks many smart new experiences, further improving the intelligent driving and active safety of Wenjie Auto."
On March 19, Wenjie officially released OTA upgrades for all models of the series. The flagship model Wenjie M9 extended range version and M9 pure electric version will be the first to launch Huawei's most powerful "picture-free smart driving" function. This function Without relying on high-precision maps, practical functions such as City NCA, City LCC Plus and Valet Parking Assist (AVP) can be realized. Previously, Yu Chengdong commented and promised Huawei's ADS 2.0 mapless smart driving function at the press conference, "It can be driven all over the country, it can be driven if there are roads, and the more it is driven, the better it is."
When Yu Chengdong mentioned ADS 2.0 in public for the first time, he said that China’s urban construction and update speed is far greater than the collection and update speed of high-precision map data, especially the core areas that “high-precision maps” give priority to covering. This is especially true in first-tier cities. This means that under the technical route that relies on "high-precision maps", the smart car's intelligent driving assistance in urban areas will never be able to achieve perfect adaptation. Therefore, "if there is a road, you can drive", this seemingly simple and simple saying means that if a vehicle wants to get rid of the restrictions on the coverage area of "high-precision map", what is needed behind it is strong technical support. The so-called "intelligent driving without maps" means that the vehicle no longer relies on high-precision map data and can realize intelligent driving and navigation assistance functions.
