HTWO Guangzhou covers a total area of more than 200,000 square meters, with a total investment of 8.5 billion yuan. It is Hyundai Motor's first comprehensive fuel cell base overseas, including a hydrogen fuel cell stack production plant and a hydrogen fuel cell system production plant. , R&D center and innovation center.
As early as December 2019, Hyundai Motor signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Guangdong Provincial Government to conduct careful site selection, market research and other processes to enter the Chinese hydrogen fuel cell market, and conducted in-depth discussions with the Guangdong Province and Guangzhou Municipal Government. Negotiate. On January 15, 2021, Hyundai Motor signed an investment agreement with the Guangzhou Municipal Government to establish Hyundai Motor Hydrogen Fuel Cell System (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. in Guangzhou Development Zone, Guangzhou, and the foundation stone was officially laid in March 2021.
According to the plan, HTWO Guangzhou initially plans to have an annual production capacity of 6,500 units. In addition to providing hydrogen fuel cell systems for automobiles, it will also expand supply to shipping, rail transit, power generation and other fields in the future, and will expand production and supply capabilities in a timely manner depending on the Chinese market and policy needs. . Once completed and put into operation, HTWO Guangzhou will not only be one of the largest hydrogen fuel cell vehicle system production bases in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, but will also accelerate the improvement of the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle industry chain in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and promote the high quality of the new energy vehicle industry. develop.
In October last year, HTWO Guangzhou Mobile joined hands with Hengyun Group and Guangzhou Development Zone Investment Group to establish a hydrogen energy joint venture to accelerate the popularization and application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. At the completion ceremony, all parties in the industry chain also signed a framework agreement for the promotion of fuel cell vehicles in Guangdong Province and launched a demonstration application project for 1,500 fuel cell vehicles.
