Data size transferred after power failure [Copy link]

Since RAM data will be lost when power is lost, if the RAM+FLASH+power-off detection circuit solution is adopted, how much data can be transferred to the flash when power is detected? The processor can be a common DSP or a single-chip microcomputer.

If battery replacement is not allowed, a large-capacity capacitor can be used as a short-term backup power supply.   Details Published on 2019-8-6 16:31

Writing to Flash takes a certain amount of time. If there is a lot of data, use ferroelectric memory.

The original poster's thinking is the opposite. He should first confirm the amount of data that needs to be transferred, calculate the writing time and leave a margin to determine the time the power supply needs to support. If the amount of data is large and needs to be written for a long time, a small capacity backup power supply can be added to solve the problem.

1. The data volume has been determined, about 7M is needed 2. As for the backup power supply, since the project will be sealed after completion, it is equivalent to being unable to replace the battery, and the service life of the equipment is 20 years  Details Published on 2019-8-6 15:27

If the cost is not taken into consideration, ferroelectrics or supercapacitors can be used, or the flash can be dynamically written before power failure to reduce the amount of data after power failure.
