On April 4, 2021, Cognata is proud to announce the successful completion of the first 18-month milestone of Project Avatar - Advanced Situational Awareness Technology for Autonomous Vehicles.

The AVATAR project is a MAGNET project whose main goal is to build a detailed and accurate world view for decision-making of autonomous vehicles by merging the collaborative information of various sensors onto an efficient computer embedded system with innovative algorithms.

The alliance includes some familiar "tall" figures in the industry, such as VayaVision, Elbit Systems, CEVA and Arbe Robotics, as well as leading academic institutions such as Technion, TAU, Weizmann Institute, etc. Everyone works together to conduct joint research and provide the alliance with the academic support it needs.

To ensure that the alliance always focuses on the latest market demands, some industry-leading companies have also joined the alliance as observers, including DENSO , NVIDIA, Jaguar, etc.

Cognata, autonomous vehicle situational awareness technology

Cognata is the Alliance’s simulation partner and, as such, is key in connecting the different companies to enable safe, comprehensive testing and validation of the systems being developed within the Alliance.

Cognata has collaborated with other members of the alliance, such as VayaVision, to build a more comprehensive offering while increasing its own technical capabilities to serve existing and future customers.

The alliance helps Cognata strengthen its relationships with industrial companies and the Israeli ecosystem. "After 18 months of hard work, we have finally successfully completed this important milestone! We are looking forward to the second half of the year and improving our simulation models according to market needs," said Danny Atsmon, CEO of Cognata.
