Recently, the familiar ZF announced that it will tailor a new autonomous driving technology for the Chinese market and will release it at the Shanghai Auto Show. As we all know, ZF is a supplier specializing in the manufacture of automotive parts, specializing in the supply of transmission, steering, and chassis system parts. The most famous is of course the gearbox, and the famous BMW likes to use ZF's gearbox.
However, as autonomous driving is inevitable, ZF is also preparing to fully enter the field of autonomous driving. This time, ZF will release the latest technologies including Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Predictive Economic Cruise Control (PECC), ZF ProAI supercomputer and open autonomous driving platform ADOPT. Among them, the Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS) is specially developed for the Chinese market, which can be said to be the emphasis on the Chinese market. It can also be seen that with the rise of new energy vehicles and 5G networks in China, the future of autonomous driving is definitely in China, so ZF will attach great importance to the Chinese market.
Among these technologies, the Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS) can be understood as a smarter pre-collision system that can make timely vehicle predictions under more complex road conditions to prevent collisions, while the Predictive Economic Cruise Control (PECC) can be understood as selecting more appropriate acceleration and braking under complex road conditions to reduce vehicle energy consumption.
As for the ZF ProAI supercomputer and the open autonomous driving platform ADOPT, they are the new generation of supercomputers launched by ZF. They are similar to cloud data and can better comprehensively analyze information such as road surface, drivers, pedestrians, and vehicles. However, it is hard to say whether this supercomputer will collect user information, and if the cloud information backup is not stored in China, it is still difficult to guarantee our safety. This can only be seen how it will be arranged at that time.
As major manufacturers increase their research and development of autonomous driving, it seems that autonomous driving will be closer and closer to us in the future. I believe that we will all be able to use this technology in the near future. What do you think of this technology?
