The development of automobile technology can almost be described as changing with each passing day. What impressed me most was that a few years ago, every time I got off the highway, there were people holding "lead the way" signs at the highway exit. At that time, everyone would basically prepare a national traffic map or a provincial or municipal traffic map booklet if they wanted to go to an unfamiliar place. However, in just a few years, there are no "leaders" at the highway intersections, and drivers can also see map books in their cabs. Instead, mobile phones and navigation devices have become completely popular. The development of each generation of automobile technology has brought unprecedented experience to drivers in terms of convenience, safety, comfort, entertainment and other aspects. So what automobile technologies will appear in the next generation of cars?
➤1. Equipped with AR HUB
One of the main technologies that many automakers are scrambling to improve is the head-up display (HUD). This technology is improving rapidly because everyone sees it as the next major advancement in the intelligence of the car cockpit. Many people now still rely mainly on the car's own infotainment navigation system and mobile phones for navigation, and we use our eyes to see these while driving, which can easily cause distraction. The AR windshield HUD system can overlay images in the perception environment of transparent surfaces (including windows) in many cases. Simply put, it can combine actual traffic conditions and reasonably overlay and display some driving information in the user's field of view, so that the driver can enhance his perception of the driving environment.
➤2. Realize partial autonomous driving technology
The popular TV series Knight Rider, which originated in the United States from 1982 to 1986, brought everyone into the world of smart cars. The TV series tells the story of Michael Knight driving KITT, a sports car with a high degree of artificial intelligence, to support the innocent and helpless in a world where criminals are above the law. The scene in which KITT has a fully autonomous driving function and can call through a watch once shined. Such highly artificially intelligent cars are still the research and development goals of major car companies today.
Nowadays, many cars are equipped with L1 and L2 automatic assisted driving functions. Although they do not have the technology that is completely independent of the driver like KITT in "Knight Rider", they also have some basic driving functions. I believe that with the rapid development of automobile technology, the next generation of cars will have higher levels of autonomous driving functions, and one day they may even be able to achieve a fully highly intelligent state like KITT, completely freeing the driver from driving.
➤3. Smart tires
Many traffic accidents that occur every year are caused by tire blowouts. Unlike many vehicles nowadays that already have functions such as tire pressure detection and anti-explosion tires, many cars in the past had ordinary tires. Once a tire failure occurred while the car was driving at high speed, it was fatal. Now many tire manufacturers are also constantly developing new technologies. For example, through technology to improve tire durability, it can also reduce the road noise generated by tires and roads, and improve the comfort of the car during driving. For example, by connecting the tires to the car and integrating sensors, the driver can know the various parameters such as tire tread wear, tire temperature and tire pressure in real time, prevent unknown risks in advance, and improve the safety index of the vehicle.
➤4. Full vehicle tracking and anti-theft
Car anti-theft has always been an important part of car property. With the development of video surveillance and vehicle networking technology, although the probability of the whole car being stolen has been greatly reduced, there are still many cases of lost car accessories, such as rearview mirrors, wipers, wheels, etc. These situations are difficult to prevent and not easy to recover. In the future, car sensors may be spread throughout the car. If some parts of the car are missing, the sensor will transmit the missing situation to the owner in real time, and automatically activate the anti-theft alarm and monitoring system to protect the property safety of the vehicle and provide the most favorable conditions for the police to solve the case.
