Tesla's models are not only electric cars, but also excellent semi-autonomous driving cars. The Autopilot developed by Tesla is very excellent, and can be said to be one of the top levels in the industry. Tesla is also constantly maintaining and upgrading it to continue to provide consumers with the best driving experience.
Recently, a hacker discovered Tesla's little secret. Tesla is upgrading its autopilot and using 3D technology to help drivers get a better driving experience. This seems to mean that Tesla's autonomous driving level can be further improved, and autonomous driving functions that can be used on urban roads will soon be available.
Although this is not the first time that there has been news about traffic light recognition, this leak shows that Tesla has made further improvements in this regard and can bring better user experience to consumers. However, this technology cannot be implemented yet because Tesla will not rashly choose to promote this technology directly before detailed testing and tens of thousands of miles of actual testing.
3D rendering technology is a supplement to the autopilot. By presenting the surrounding environment in 3D on the screen, passengers and drivers can better understand the current road conditions and location information. At the same time, it can also distinguish between pedestrians and cars, ensuring traffic safety to a greater extent.
Tesla has not yet commented on the leak, but the hacker's revelations also show that engineers are adding more features to Autopilot to improve the way it navigates in urban environments.
There are too many changing factors on urban roads, which is a problem that autonomous driving needs to deal with. The current autonomous driving technology can keep the car in the same lane, maintain a constant speed, and actively brake when the current car slows down. This is just a combination of lane keeping assist, cruise control and collision avoidance functions.
However, when faced with more complex road conditions, such as busy intersections or children suddenly appearing on the side of the road, autonomous driving cannot handle these sudden and complex road conditions well. There have been related accidents in autonomous driving tests, and fatal accidents have occurred because of the inability to recognize pedestrians in the dark.
Autonomous driving is a convenient technology that people look forward to, but safety is more important. We can feel that autonomous driving technology is constantly developing, and some semi-autonomous driving has been successfully installed on some models. Maybe tomorrow a company will announce the development of safe autonomous driving technology, but now we can still enjoy the fun of driving.
