This design uses two separate 5.0 V supplies, one for the reference and analog portion of the AD5380 (AVDD), and the other for the digital portion of the AD5380 (DVDD). For best performance, always use a linear regulator to drive the analog portion of the circuit. If a switching regulator is used to drive the digital portion, care should be taken to minimize switching noise on the DVDD supply pin. Additional decoupling with series ferrite beads may also be required. The AD5380 digital (DVDD) supply can be either 3 V or 5 V, which allows for great flexibility when interfacing with digital components. The two supply pins can be tied together and connected to a common 5 V supply from a linear regulator.
