The circuit can provide a small current, adjustable negative bias voltage. It is suitable for sensor bias, LCD contrast bias, or voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) tuning voltage. The circuit uses a DAC to drive a charge pump doubler to provide the required voltage, eliminating the large level shift circuit usually composed of an operational amplifier and many discrete components.
