TI's BUF802 Buffered Op Amp, Now Available at Mouser, Simplifies DAQ Front Ends for Measurement Work

This product can significantly increase the signal bandwidth in data acquisition (DAQ) systems, allowing design engineers to apply DAQ front-end designs to various test and measurement applications such as oscilloscopes, active probes, and high-frequency data capture systems.

The TI BUF802, available from Mouser Electronics, is a high input impedance (Hi-Z), open-loop, unity-gain buffer amplifier with a JFET input stage that supports bandwidths up to 3.1GHz. The BUF802 replaces complex and expensive ASIC-based implementations, integrating the functionality of discrete components into a single chip, increasing bandwidth tenfold compared to FET input amplifiers. This superior performance enables design engineers to achieve higher signal throughput while minimizing input settling time, thereby improving throughput and accuracy in high-frequency signal measurements.

For development purposes, Mouser also stocks the BUF802RGTEVM evaluation module. The module features two independent circuit configurations: a composite loop with a precision amplifier and an independent BUF802 buffer. The BUF802RGTEVM can be used with single or dual supplies and includes SMA connectors on its analog inputs and outputs. In addition, the module's layout is optimized to reduce parasitic coupling and provide excellent signal fidelity over the entire frequency range.
