Qorvo QPA1724 Ku/K-Band GaN Power Amplifier Now Available at Mouser

September 13, 2022 – Mouser Electronics, the industry's leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the broadest selection of semiconductors and electronic components™, is now stocking the Qorvo® QPA1724 Ku/K-band gallium nitride (GaN) power amplifier (PA). The product has twice the power of similar PAs and provides excellent broadband linear power, gain, and power added efficiency (PAE), with very good RF performance.

The Qorvo QPA1724, available from Mouser, is a high-power MIMIC amplifier for the 17.3GHz to 21.2GHz (Ku/K) satellite communications band, with a saturated output power of 20W (approximately 43dBm), a small signal gain of 25dB, and a power-added efficiency of 27% . The device uses Qorvo's 0.15μm GaN-on-SiC process (QGaN15) and provides a fully matched 50Ω DC-grounded I/O port with on-chip DC blocking capacitors for both input and output ports.

The QPA1724 is ideal for radar and satellite communications (SATCOM) applications, including low-Earth orbit constellations and broadband, multi-carrier high data throughput solutions. The product is available in a 7.5mm × 6.0mm × 1.6mm QFN package and is fully DC and RF tested to ensure compliance with electrical specifications. For evaluation and development work, the QPA1724EVB evaluation board can also be ordered from Mouser.
