August 2, 2022, China – STMicroelectronics’ TSB582 dual high-output amplifier simplifies circuits for driving inductive and low-resistance loads such as industrial motors, valves, resolvers, and automotive electric steering systems and automatic parking.
The TSB582 uses a 4V-36V power supply and consists of two operational amplifiers (op amps), each with a sink/source current of up to 200mA, which can bridge direct-connected loads, allowing one TSB582 to replace two single-channel power op amps or high-current drivers built from discrete components. By integrating two op amps in the same package, the TSB582 can save up to 50% of circuit board space and reduce bill of materials costs.
TSB582 is available in industrial and automotive versions. The industrial version is suitable for controlling robot motion and position, conveyor belts and servo motors. Automotive applications include motor rotor position detection for electric steering, electric drive motors, etc., as well as wheel rotation tracking for automated driving assistance systems and autonomous vehicles.
The TSB582 has internal short-circuit protection and over-temperature protection, rail-to-rail output, and a gain bandwidth (GBW) of up to 3.1MHz. Both industrial and automotive versions have a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C , enhanced EMI immunity, and ESD tolerance of up to 4kV HBM .
The new products are available in two low thermal resistance packages: SO8 with exposed thermal pad and DFN8 3mm x 3mm package with exposed thermal pad and wettable flanks. The wettable flanks are tinned to facilitate post-soldering inspection to see if the product meets automotive quality assurance requirements. Industrial-grade products in the DFN8 3mm x 3mm package are now available, and industrial-grade and automotive-grade products in the DFN8 and SO8 will be released in the third quarter of 2022.
The TSB582 is part of STMicroelectronics' 10-year product lifecycle assurance program and free samples are available now on ST's online store, ST eStore.
