Bourns New 12mm Dual Concentric Rotary Encoder Offers Dual Encoders in a Single Package
The PEC11D series provides highly reliable solutions to meet the design requirements of various space-constrained applications. February 9, 2022 - Bourns, a world-renowned leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, has launched a new 12mm dual concentric rotary encoder series, which has two encoders in a single package.
Bourns® PEC11D helps designers use only a single encoder in applications that require the functionality of two encoders. With a high IP40 sealing rating, 15,000-cycle life rating, and -40 to +85°C operating temperature, the Bourns® PEC11D series provides a high-reliability solution for a wide range of applications such as professional audio and lighting, communications, test and measurement equipment, low/medium risk medical** diagnostic and laboratory equipment, and industrial automation control. Bourns' new encoder series features a metal bushing and metal dual concentric shaft with two-position quadrature outputs that provide phase and direction information. The series also features a momentary push button switch with a 20,000-cycle rated switching life.
In addition, high-stroke and standard-stroke switch options are available in the same package size, allowing the encoder to adapt to individual customer needs and application environments. Alain Leon, Bourns Sensor Product Line Manager, said: "More than 70 years ago, Bourns led the market with a breakthrough potentiometer design that successfully improved instrument performance. The new dual-concentric rotary encoder with switch launched today is Bourns' first dual-concentric rotary encoder designed to meet today's circuit board density requirements, and it is also a successful example of Bourns' continued commitment to developing high-quality products with advanced functions and innovation."
Bourns® PEC11D encoders are available now and are fully RoHS* compliant.
