The core of the DCS control system print management system is the print management software, which is installed on an ordinary PC and runs on the WINDOWS platform. To ensure data security, RAID technology is used and dual hard disks are redundantly operated.

This software is a set of printing information management software developed to improve the printing function of the computer automatic control (DCS) operation station and enhance the ability to store, view and copy information. It has the characteristics of powerful functions, friendly interface and easy operation.

It can fundamentally avoid the phenomenon of information loss due to printer failure when only using printers in the past, and can also fundamentally avoid useful information being submerged in a large amount of useless information. The printout information of the operation station can be stored in the form of files on the hard disk for a long time (depending on the capacity of the hard disk and the amount of printed information, it can be up to several months or even several years), or it can be copied to other storage devices (such as: CD, etc.).

The printing system can automatically identify the alarm records, control operations, statistical reports, event trigger reports, screen copies, and configuration lists in the operation station information, and process them separately. It can be used to observe the alarm records, control operations, statistical reports, event trigger reports, screen copies, and configuration lists of the operation station in real time, and process them separately; it can also observe the alarm records and control operations of the operation station in real time, and other data and status that require immediate response, and can also conveniently check all the records that have been received.

You can use "offline printing" to selectively print the received information, and you can use "online printing" to immediately output the print content of the operator station to the printer.

  How the printing system works

Printers produced by various printer manufacturers have drivers connected to the WINDOWS operating system. However, the operating systems of most operating stations of the original DCS are dedicated, and they only have drivers for several special printers.

The commonly used printers on the market do not have drivers, so they cannot be connected. In fact, the task of the printing system software is to write the reverse driver software of the WINDOWS operating system, that is, to make the signal from the DCS operating station be recognized in the WINDOWS environment. Then connect the commonly used printers through the WINDOWS driver.

The printing system software needs to recognize different data formats, because the printers originally connected to different models of DCS system operation stations have their own data formats, such as ANSI format, IBM format, etc. Before the printing system is connected to the operation station, its data format must be clarified so that this data format can work in the WINDOWS environment.

Printing system software should be written with reverse driver software for multiple data formats. In addition, the software for printing graphics and printing text is very different. The software for printing text only is relatively simple, while the software for printing graphics is relatively complex. For example, when using an HP printer to print graphics, first find out whether it is in dot matrix format or page scan format. Most HP printers are page scan mode, and the software needs to interpret PCL instructions so that the printer can print the graphics on the operator station screen. If it is not an HP printer, other instructions need to be interpreted.
