Before the large-scale development of wireless networks, wired layout was more commonly used, which invisibly brought great inconvenience to the layout of the monitoring system, because even with the best optical fiber wiring, its effective transmission distance is limited. If you want to transmit farther, you have to add other corresponding devices for connection. As the application scale of our wireless network continues to expand, its technology is constantly improving, especially the faster and faster wireless transmission speed, which has given rise to wireless network monitoring systems.
In-depth wireless video surveillance system
Wireless video surveillance is based on wireless network technology. Wireless video surveillance does not require wiring, and uses radio waves to transmit video and other data. Wireless network cameras are an important part of wireless video surveillance systems. Currently, 3G wireless network cameras and wifi wireless network cameras have also appeared on the market, both of which do not require wiring and are easy to install.
Wireless video surveillance is mainly divided into analog microwave transmission and digital microwave transmission. Analog microwave transmission modulates the video signal on the microwave channel and transmits it through the antenna. The monitoring center receives the microwave signal through the antenna and then demodulates the original video signal through the microwave receiver. The monitoring center can also obtain clear images by controlling the pan/tilt and lens, without delay, loss, and low cost.
Digital microwave transmission first compresses the video code, modulates it through the digital microwave channel, and then transmits it through the antenna. The receiving end receives the digital signal, and the monitoring center equipment then demodulates it. Digital analog transmission can adapt to more complex environments, with many monitoring points, strong anti-interference ability, and can centrally transmit multiple video signals. It can also control the pan/tilt and lens, support recording, playback and management, and can select the resolution.
Compared with wired video surveillance, wireless video surveillance has many advantages such as low cost, good performance, scalability, low maintenance cost, real-time monitoring and low construction difficulty. It has been widely used in supermarkets, factories, smart buildings, bridges, tunnels, ports and many other fields.
Some people are not optimistic about wireless video surveillance, believing that once the signal is bad, the entire wireless network monitoring system will be paralyzed. Wireless video surveillance is like a kite with a broken string, which will fall very hard. This statement is not groundless. China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, the three major network operators, control the throat of my country's network development, which naturally restricts the promotion and application of network products. Therefore, to break this situation, the only way is to introduce a free market mechanism, break the monopoly, and compete independently.
Of course, video surveillance is not a kite, and wireless video surveillance is not a kite with a broken string. As a new mode and a new idea of surveillance, wireless video surveillance will certainly encounter problems of one kind or another in the future promotion process, but science is progressing, technology is developing, and the future society will inevitably be a network society and a digital society, and digital networks will be everywhere. By then, wireless video surveillance may become as indispensable as computers today.
Video surveillance wireless infrastructure doubled in 2016
"Wireless infrastructure offers a relatively inexpensive solution compared to laying cables, providing a low-cost option for customers who want to build a surveillance network," said Josh Woodhouse, video surveillance analyst at IHS. "In regions with extensive video surveillance infrastructure, such as the United States or the United Kingdom, the use of video surveillance wireless infrastructure is growing steadily. However, emerging regions that lack such infrastructure will generate the strongest growth momentum worldwide, driving the video surveillance wireless infrastructure market to prosper in the coming years."
The global video surveillance wireless infrastructure market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (GAGR) of 17% through 2017. Global growth will be led by China, with revenue growing at a CAGR of 28.8% during this period. The second fastest growing region will be the rest of Asia (including India), which will grow at 27.9%. Mexico will grow at a CAGR of 23.1%, Brazil will grow at 17.4%, and the rest of South America will grow at 26.6%.
Asia is expected to be the fastest growing region in the world over the next few years due to the current absence of any wired surveillance infrastructure, lower wireless costs and increasing security needs in the region.
Wireless smart security market is growing explosively
As the foundation of the development of the Internet of Things, the security monitoring industry will benefit from the further development of the Internet of Things technology. The overall improvement of digital, analog, and HD-SDI high-definition technologies related to this will provide users with abundant choices; with the improvement of algorithms, intelligent analysis technology has begun to enter the actual project construction, especially the image detection functions such as video diagnosis and image retrieval will be strengthened. In 2012, the total output value of my country's security industry has reached about 325 billion yuan. Under the favorable influence of the new policy, it is expected that my country's security market will achieve a growth rate of 30%. The application in various industries such as finance, public security, transportation, medical care, education, culture and museums, communications, energy, and manufacturing enterprises will be more extensive and in-depth, and the business opportunities in the civilian security market will also show explosive growth.
The video search success rate is over 99%, the intelligent video recognition rate is over 90%, the accuracy rate is over 90% during the day, and the accuracy rate is over 80% at night. Intelligent video surveillance has become a powerful tool for enterprises to occupy the commanding heights of the security market. Currently, nearly 400 cities have applied the company's products and technologies in the construction of smart cities.
Telecom operators have also coincidentally targeted the IoT home security market. First, China Telecom launched the "Global Eye" video surveillance service, which can be used for both industry and home security monitoring. It also launched the "3G Smart Butler" service for smart homes and home security; China Mobile has even tailored the "Yi Ju Tong" service standard specifically for home security, allowing users' mobile phones to keep monitoring the door magnets, infrared detection, gas detection and even cameras at home at any time, realizing anti-theft alarms, video surveillance, gas alarms, fire alarms and help for the elderly, etc.
"In terms of image storage and traffic, the wireless monitoring solution has realized the output of standard-definition images for 3G wireless monitoring. Users can choose standard-definition or high-definition according to their own definition of image clarity, and the image resolution ranges from QVGA to 1080p." Wei Zhen, dean of the School of Electronic Information Engineering at Tianjin University of Technology, said that monitoring electronic eye products that support wireless or 3G will become the new favorite in the market. In addition, with the advent of the 4G era, 4G technology will also be gradually applied in security products.
Wireless video surveillance application areas
Thanks to the portability and flexibility of wireless monitoring, the application areas of wireless monitoring are mainly the following:
Application scenarios where wired monitoring cannot be deployed: such as transportation vehicles (cars, trains, ships), law enforcement management (traffic police, urban management), special escort (armed police, banks, dangerous chemicals), etc., where wired networks cannot be laid and covered under mobile conditions;
Application scenarios that can be deployed but are too costly or where temporary wiring will result in cost waste: The former, such as resource monitoring (forests, rivers, oil fields, substations, base stations, border stations, ports, scenic spots), etc., are often limited by the geographical environment and work content. In the case of a wide area and sparse users, the outdoor installation of wired monitoring lines takes a long time and the maintenance cost is very high, or even impossible to achieve; the latter, such as temporary deployment of public security investigations, field training of troops, temporary construction sites, temporary activity venues, and exhibition centers;
Application scenarios that require additional monitoring: such as homes, communities, shops, small and medium-sized enterprises, buildings, bridges, tunnels, intersections, etc. During secondary construction, it is best not to damage the original decoration or work surface;
Emergency and inaccessible application scenarios: such as emergency command (flood control, firefighting, rescue), flammable and explosive dangerous places, large-scale mass gatherings, important security mission sites, disease infection areas, microbial danger areas, etc., require a complete monitoring network to be built in a relatively short period of time.
Conclusion:
my country is still in its infancy in the field of mobile surveillance, and enterprises are unable to develop their own brands or products with strong functionality and high added value. Nevertheless, with the development of 3G technology and the increasing popularity of services, the global coverage of network signals, the increasing maturity of mobile video surveillance systems and the improvement of relevant regulations, mobile video surveillance systems will surely usher in a broad market.
