When decorating a new house, most audio-visual enthusiasts want to build their first private home theater in the living room. The first person to come in during the decoration is the plumber. They will make grooves in the wall in the early stage, bury the pipes to be buried according to the construction drawings, and thread the specified power cord and other wires. The other wires here include audio-visual wires (HDMI wires, speaker wires, subwoofer wires) wiring rules.

1. Choose audio cables

If you are using professional HIFI audio or cinema audio, rather than background music audio, please be careful not to use the engineering wires provided by the electrician, which are sold on the market for two or three yuan per meter. Remember to make sure your wires are worthy of your audio. If you really want to save money, please go to the store where you want to order audio and video equipment and ask the store to buy you their worst wires. Generally speaking, the worst professional wires are only ten yuan per meter, and the wires given away by the store owner are of relatively poor quality.

2. Power supply design

The best power supply for the home theater is a single power supply pulled from the main switch, and it is best to use a 2-square-meter brand international power cord, which can ensure the stability of the current. Try not to intersect with other power supplies, and definitely do not connect it with air conditioners or refrigerators.

3. HDMI cable selection

Now HDMI has been released to version 1.4, and the prices of many cables vary greatly, especially for cables over five meters long. The price difference between the online price and the price in the physical store is really large. Some customers, in order to save money, bought a genuine 10-meter cable with a market price of more than 1,000 yuan for only more than 100 yuan, and then used it directly during the decoration, buried it in the tube, and found that it could not transmit information during installation. The decoration has been completed, the cable cannot be pulled, and everything is too late to change. Because different cables have different uses, you must not say that everything will be fine after trying it. If you want to try it, you must take the three equipment you will use in the future and try it together (disc player-amplifier-projector). If the cable is not buried in the tube, it can be replaced freely. It is also okay to use cables made by small factories, because if there is a problem, it can be replaced freely. But if it is fixed in the tube, please avoid saving wires and saving big troubles.

4. Line length

If you design it yourself without the guidance of professionals, please ask the plumber to leave 1.5 meters of audio cables (including subwoofer cables, if they are not finished cables and are not placed in the front) for the equipment (power amplifiers and other equipment), and do not reserve only 50CM. Once the equipment has a problem and needs to be taken out for maintenance, you can only unplug all the plugs behind the equipment to take it out, or lie on the cabinet and work hard. Things that could have been handled in more than ten minutes will waste two or three hours because the cable is too short. If your audio is wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted, it is enough to leave the cable 30-50CM long. If you use a box-type audio or a bookshelf box on a shelf, it is best to leave 1.5 meters to 2 meters of the cable. The audio may need to be moved due to the sound quality or the layout of the living room. It is better to cut the audio cable than to connect it.

5. Tube selection

The tube from the device to the projector should be 40mm. The head of the HDMI cable is usually flat, 3cm wide and 1.5cm high. The larger the tube, the safer it is. In addition, when wiring, you must tell the master that the end of the cable cannot be cut or bent too much. It is best to protect it with electrical tape before putting the tube in. The tube from the device to the speaker can be 20mm. Basically, put one wire in. If the master wants two wires together, it will be fine. It's up to him.

The TV in the living room nowadays is basically mounted on the wall. You'd better determine the size and position of the TV and ask the plumber to bury a 50-meter pipe for the power cord and HDMI cable. (Nowadays digital TV signals can be directly output using an HDMI cable, so the wired signal cable is omitted). Because the power cord of the TV is generally connected to the TV, you need to pass the entire plug through the 50-meter pipe.

Regardless of the material of the pipe, whether it is PVC, PVR or galvanized pipe, as long as it is not placed side by side with the power supply and is kept at a distance of more than 30CM.

6. Socket selection

The plugs of many audio-visual equipment nowadays are not of the unified national standard. Ordinary power sockets need to be equipped with adapters. It is best to use multi-function sockets between the equipment and the projector.

The number of sockets: the power amplifier needs one socket, the disc player needs one socket, the TV needs one socket, the subwoofer needs one socket, the HD player needs one socket, and your iPod also needs a socket, so six sockets are needed here. It is best to arrange six sockets in a row at the equipment. You'd better not expect that a five-pin socket can accommodate a two-pin plus a three-pin. This situation is rare now. Often, if a two-pin is used, a three-pin cannot be used, and vice versa. If your theater includes a projector, you need an independent five-pin socket, and it must be guaranteed to be a single channel, preferably the same channel as other audio-visual equipment. If you want to control the projection separately, do not put the switch together with the light switch. It is best to find a hidden place to put the switch.
