Matrix switchers and distributors are often used in monitoring and broadcasting system engineering. Their main purpose is to switch and distribute audio and video and VGA (RGBHV) signals. Therefore, when choosing equipment, you can quickly and easily choose the appropriate product by confirming the following usage requirements. Below we take Liguo's products as an example:
First, confirm whether it is to distribute or switch signals. Generally speaking, the application of converting one input signal into multiple output signals is to distribute signals, and a distributor is needed.
To select one or multiple outputs from multiple input signals, you should choose a switcher or matrix switcher.
Second, confirm the format of the signal to be switched
1. If it is an audio signal (A), select an audio matrix switcher, for example: VAS-16*8A;
2. If it is a video signal (V), select a video matrix switcher, for example: VAS-16*8V;
3. If it is an audio/video signal (AV), choose an audio/video matrix switcher, such as VAS-16*16;
4. If it is a computer signal (VGA), choose a VGA switcher, such as VGAS-16*16V;
Third, confirm the number of input and output signal paths. For example: 1*4: one input and four outputs;
Fourth, determine the interface form of the device.
1. Audio matrix switcher:
a. If the signal to be switched and distributed is a mono/dual channel (D) unbalanced interface, select the RCA interface, for example: VAS-16*16A (Note: RCA interface is the default interface for audio, so it cannot be intuitively identified from the name);
b. If the signal to be switched and distributed is a balanced stereo (DB) interface, select a 3PIN interface, for example: VAS-16*16DBA.
2. Video switcher: Currently, most of the video switchers produced by our company use BNC interface.
3. Video and audio matrix switcher:
Signal interfaces that need to be switched and distributed are suitable for Liguo product interfaces, such as
Video: BNC; Audio: RCA Video: BNC; Audio: RCA VAS-16*16 (Note: Video BNC and audio RCA interfaces are both default interfaces, so they cannot be identified intuitively from the names)
Video: RCA Audio: RCA Video: RCA Audio: RCA VAS-8*2DR
Video: BNC Audio: Balanced Video: BNC Audio: 3PIN VAS-8*4DB
4. VGA switch: If the signal interface that needs to be switched and distributed is 15HD, select the 15HD interface, for example: VGAS-4*2V.
If the signal interface that needs to be switched and distributed is 5BNC, choose a Liguo product with a 5BNC interface, such as: VGAS-4*2B.
Note: When considering the interface, in addition to the requirements of the supporting peripheral interfaces, the transmission requirements must also be met. The 15HD interface has a limited transmission distance due to the thinner cable core wire diameter, and has poor anti-interference ability; the 5BNC interface can choose coaxial cables of different specifications, so the transmission distance is relatively long and the anti-interference ability is also strong.
