EPS capacity calculation method
When WY series or WYS is used for emergency lighting loads:
● When the load is an electronic ballast fluorescent lamp, EPS capacity = the total power of the electronic ballast fluorescent lamp × 1.1 times
● When the load is an inductive ballast fluorescent lamp, EPS capacity = the total power of the inductive ballast fluorescent lamp × 1.5 times
● When the load is a metal halide lamp or a metal sodium lamp, EPS capacity = the total power of the metal halide lamp or the metal sodium lamp × 1.6 times

When EPS is used with mixed loads, the calculation method of EPS capacity is as follows:
● When EPS is used with multiple motors and all are started at the same time, EPS capacity = sum of motor power with variable frequency start + sum of motor power with soft start × 3 times + sum of motor power with star-delta start × 3 times + sum of motor power with direct start × 5 times
● When EPS is used with multiple motors and all are started separately (not at the same time), EPS capacity = sum of motor power, under the following conditions:
⑴ The largest single motor power of direct start is 1/7 of EPS capacity
⑵ The largest single motor power of star-delta start
is 1/4 of EPS ⑶ The largest single motor of soft start is 1/3 of EPS
⑷ The largest single motor power of variable frequency start is not greater than EPS.
The order of motor starting should be direct start first, followed by star-delta start, then soft start, and finally variable frequency
start.
● When WYS series EPS is used with mixed loads,
EPS capacity = sum of total power of all loads, but the following six conditions must be met. If not, the EPS capacity is determined by the largest capacity
.
⑴ The sum of the power of the motors started directly and simultaneously in the load is 1/7 of the EPS capacity
⑵ The sum of the power of the motors started simultaneously in star and delta
in the load is 1/4 of the EPS capacity ⑶ The sum of the power of the motors started simultaneously with soft start in the load is 1/3 of the EPS capacity
⑷ The sum of the equivalent power of the motors with variable frequency in the load is not greater than the EPS capacity
⑸ The sum of the equivalent power of the motors started simultaneously is not greater than the EPS capacity
Motor power equivalent = sum of the total power of the motors started directly and simultaneously × 5 times = sum of the total power of the motors started simultaneously in star and delta × 3 times =
sum of the power of the motors started simultaneously with soft start × 3 times + sum of the power of the motors started simultaneously with variable frequency. If the start time difference of the motors before and after is
greater than 1 minute, it is not considered as simultaneous start
⑹ The sum of the equivalent power of all loads started simultaneously (including non-motor loads) is not greater than the EPS capacity. The sum of the power of all loads started simultaneously
= total power of non-motor loads started simultaneously × power factor + motor equivalent power.

When using WYS/B series with load, the EPS capacity calculation method is:
● EPS capacity = the power capacity of the motor carried.
