For those who are involved in low-voltage electrical work, we must have more than one USB cable and more than one DuPont cable around us, but do you understand them?
When I was lighting up the 7-inch touch screen, I used a USB cable to connect to the external power supply, but it was unstable and the screen was always distorted. I asked the teacher, to be honest, the USB cable you used was too bad. I didn't understand it at the time, so I googled it online. The search results are as follows
USB cables are usually marked with 28AWG/1P, 26AWG/2C, etc. These two parameters are the quality standards of USB cables. Let's first talk about the meaning of AWG, P, and C. AWG (American wire gauge) is the American wire gauge. P is the abbreviation of Pair, and C is the abbreviation of Core. So 28AWG/1P, 26AWG/2C means two 28-diameter wires, one twisted pair, and two 26-diameter wires, separated separately. In the USB cable, that is, the power cable is 26-diameter, and the data cable is 28-diameter twisted together. Back to the original question, why can't my USB cable carry a 7-inch screen? The problem lies in the USB power cable. At that time, the power cable diameter of my USB cable was 28AWG. The wire was too thin, resulting in too much voltage drop and poor supply capacity.
Our DuPont cables are also marked with 24AWG, which also refers to the wire diameter, so you must read it carefully when buying cables. Don't just buy them at a low price. If there is a problem, you will suffer the loss.
