Experts from Pickering Instruments (Beijing) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pickering Group and a switch expert in the field of automatic testing, are looking forward to your visit, communication and guidance at Pickering's booth A-21 at this year's Aircraft Avionics International Forum. Pickering's main exhibits at this year's international forum include PXI 8-channel serial bus fault injection switch 40-200, PXI 10W programmable resistor module 40-253, PXI BRIC ultra-high density matrix 40-562B, PXI/PXIe microwave relay module 40-782B, PXI/PXIe LVDT/RVDT/resolver simulation module 41-670, PXI 6-channel battery simulation module 41-752, 4-slot LXI/USB modular chassis 60-105, flexible battery management system (BMS) test system and PXI 12x2 high-voltage power matrix 40-332.
The 40-200 PXI Fault Insertion Module is designed to simulate common faults on two-wire communication interfaces such as the CAN bus. The module supports 4 or 8 channels of two-wire serial interfaces. Each channel can simulate an open fault in 1 or 2 wires, a short between 2 wires, or a short to one of 8 externally applied fault connections (such as a battery connection or ground) via 4 fault buses. Each channel can support up to 0.3A of current and can handle up to 100V between the wire pairs. The wire pairs have controlled transmission line impedance suitable for most differential pair signaling systems, including fast CAN bus interfaces and RS232. Each fault bus is capable of carrying 2A, allowing multiple channels to be connected to the same fault condition. In addition, each fault bus has a changeover relay that allows the user to connect alternative fault conditions to the fault bus.

The 40-253 Programmable Resistor Module features 1 channel that can be set between 1.5Ω and 925Ω, providing a simple solution for applications that require up to 10W of power handling per channel. This product has a variety of resistance ranges to meet the needs of most functional test systems. Each channel is capable of simulating short or open circuit conditions that may occur in a system caused by line or sensor faults.

Available in 2, 4, 8, or 12 slot sizes, the 40-562B Ultra High Density Matrix Module uses instrumentation grade reed switches to meet high performance PXI matrix requirements.

The 40-782B (PXI/PXIe) Microwave Relay Modules contain one or two microwave commutation switch elements capable of switching frequencies up to 18 GHz at 50 Ω and connect via high-quality front-panel mounted SMA connectors. While these modules are designed for microwave applications, they also have many uses across the RF spectrum, such as applications requiring extremely low insertion loss and ultra-high isolation.

The 41-670 simulation module is used for linear (LVDT) and angular (RVDT) displacement sensor simulation or resolver simulation. This new module only occupies one PXI or LXI/USB chassis slot, and its powerful programmable features allow users to simulate with a very small amount of hardware. In addition, since this module needs to be installed in a PXI chassis and used with other user instruments, no additional control protocols/interfaces are required, simplifying operation. Each channel has its own digital signal processor (DSP), so measurements can be made without additional instruments. The 41-670 module provides 4 groups of simulation units, each of which can simulate the output of a 5-wire or 6-wire VDT resolver, or dual 4-wire outputs using a shared excitation signal. This allows a single module to perform up to 4 channels of 5/6-wire or 8 channels of 4-wire simulation.

The 41-752A is a battery simulator with up to 6 channels, each channel can provide up to 7V and 300mA to the load. Each channel is completely isolated from each other and ground, so that channels can be connected in series to simulate batteries arranged in a stacked structure. The 1KV isolation barrier can be used for testing and verification of the latest 800V solutions. The product can be used as a power supply with 6 channels of complete isolation and independent sense lines for each channel.

The 60-105 4-slot USB/LXI modular chassis is lightweight and ideal for portable, benchtop and space-constrained applications . It can be mounted on a desktop or cabinet and can be remotely controlled via USB or LXI Ethernet interfaces. Remote control over the network allows the test system to switch as close to the target device as possible. It can support up to four Pickering 3U PXI modules, making it an ideal platform for building small applications. The system can include matrix switches with up to 3072 crosspoints, multiplexer switches with 792 channels, or programmable resistor/sensor simulators with up to 72 channels. This 4-slot chassis is compatible with USB 3.0 and has a fully compliant LXI interface, and wireless network card function is also available (optional). These communication standards allow the chassis to be controlled directly through the standard interface on most HTML5-enabled PCs or laptops. It is very practical for a variety of applications in the modular test and measurement market.

As electric energy becomes increasingly prevalent in new energy vehicles, one of the major challenges that needs to be addressed is the effective testing and verification of battery management systems (BMS). A battery management system (BMS) test system using modular, PXI-based switch and simulation modules offers many advantages when testing BMS, including: (1) it is a fully flexible test system that can be optimized to precisely meet requirements and easily modified to meet evolving needs, and (2) it is an open architecture based on industry standards that extends system life and reduces obsolescence while providing seamless integration of multi-vendor instrumentation and communication modules. To facilitate BMS testing, our PXI/PXIe battery simulators offer the advantages of a modular and scalable platform, making them ideal for battery pack simulation.

The 40-332 PXI 12x2 High Voltage Power Matrix is designed for applications that require high-density high-voltage power relay switches with up to 5A current carrying capacity, 1000VDC/1000VAC peak cold switching, and 110VDC/250VAC hot switching. The 40-332 is available in 12x2 or 6x4 matrix configurations and can be connected via a front panel mounted 37-pin high-voltage D-type connector.
