Modular and scalable interconnect blade installation, eliminating the need for fixed-size chassis, providing hardware-assisted tools for designs of all sizes
Siemens Digital Industries Software has launched the Veloce™ CS hardware-assisted verification and validation system. The system combines hardware simulation, enterprise prototyping and software prototyping, and relies on two advanced integrated circuits (ICs) - Siemens dedicated Crystal accelerator chips for hardware simulation, and AMD Versal™ Premium VP1902 FPGA adaptable SoC for enterprise and software prototyping.
Veloce™ CS consists of three new products:
-
Veloce™ Strato CS Hardware for Hardware Acceleration Emulation
-
Veloce™ Primo CS Hardware for Enterprise Prototyping
-
Veloce™ proFPGA CS Hardware for Software Prototyping
The Veloce CS system is built for consistency, speed, and modularity across three platforms, supporting designs ranging from 40 million gates to more than 40 billion gates. In addition, Veloce CS can select the right tools based on the specific requirements of each task, efficiently running workloads across the system with excellent observability and consistency, thereby accelerating project convergence and reducing the cost of each verification cycle.
To achieve these capabilities, Siemens has developed innovative hardware and a unified software architecture together with key customers and partners:
-
与上一代 Veloce Strato 相比,Veloce Strato CS 的硬件加速仿真性能显著提高,最高可达 5 倍,同时还可保持完全的可观测性,支持能力从 4000 万门电路扩展到超过 400 亿门电路。
-
Based on AMD's advanced Versal Premium VP1902 FPGA, Veloce Primo CS provides a high degree of consistency in enterprise prototyping systems, and is also scalable from 40 million gates to over 40 billion gates.
-
Veloce CS adopts modular blade configuration, which meets the requirements of modern data centers for easy installation, low power consumption, excellent cooling performance and compact packaging. In addition, Veloce proFPGA CS solution also provides desktop lab version to further enhance the flexibility of use. Veloce CS can run synchronously with AMD EPYC™ HP DL385g11 server.
“The evolution of SoCs and system-level design has changed the industry over the past decade, and hardware-assisted verification (HAV) has become increasingly important,” said Alex Starr, AMD Fellow . “AMD has been working closely with Siemens to incorporate the AMD Versal Premium VP1902 into the Veloce Primo CS and Veloce proFPGA CS systems to improve overall performance and scalability, and the ability to run Veloce CS with HP DL385 gen11 servers powered by AMD EPYC CPUs is a testament to Siemens’ rapid response to customer needs and the continued innovation of the Veloce team.”
In addition, customers will have access to a comprehensive portfolio of applications and solutions that are common across the three new Veloce CS models.
“Time to market is critical for the entire Arm partner ecosystem, and we need modular, granular and efficient tools for IP and SoC verification,” said Tran Nguyen, senior director of design services at Arm . “Siemens’ Veloce platform has become an integral part of Arm’s development process, and we see continued benefits from the Veloce Strato CS system in hardware design acceleration and software development.”
“The three Veloce CS products provide a highly consistent, fast and modular hardware-assisted system that meets the specific needs of hardware, software and system engineers, helping them unleash the power to create advanced electronic products,” said Jean Marie Brunet, vice president and general manager of hardware-assisted verification at Siemens Digital Industries Software. “The innovative capabilities of Veloce CS provide the right tool for each task, accelerating the entire verification process, reducing total cost of ownership and increasing profitability.”
The Veloce Strato CS system is available now to selected partner customers, with general availability planned for all three hardware platforms in summer 2024. The Veloce CS system is also planned to be fully cloud-deployable.
