SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland – April 12, 2024 – TE Connectivity (TE), a global industry leader in connectivity and sensors, details the significant progress it has made in achieving its sustainability and social responsibility goals over the past year in its latest annual corporate responsibility report .

TE CEO Terrence Curtin said: "TE's 'One Connected World' strategy guides our sustainable development journey. I am proud of our achievements so far and the smart strategy we have taken to achieve our 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Our strategy not only reduces carbon emissions, but also drives innovation and enables sustainable development to empower the business."

Since 2020, TE has reduced its absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions directly generated by the company by 72%. In addition, TE has also committed to reducing its indirect Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions from its value chain: by 2032, a 30% reduction compared to a 2022 baseline.

Some other noteworthy developments in this year’s report include:

• Currently 77% of TE's electricity consumption comes from renewable energy

• 46% reduction in hazardous waste disposal since 2021

• 30 factories in water-stressed areas have reduced water use by 11% since 2021 and will further achieve the goal of reducing water use by 15%

• Reached 4.2 million people since 2020 through support for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education programs

• The proportion of female leaders increased to 28%

• Released the company’s first inclusion and diversity report

TE's greenhouse gas reduction targets have been recognized by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), which will help combat global warming and avoid the most devastating impacts of climate change. SBTi is an initiative jointly launched by CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to develop emission reduction standards and define related best practices based on climate science.
