Advantech cooperates with BIOS firmware expert Phoenix to launch SSD security software tool SQErase based on UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface). Designed to usher in the future of data security, SQErase can delete critical data through UEFI without being restricted by the operating system, providing a comprehensive storage security solution for rugged industrial applications. Advantech's SSD SQFlash series products provide higher security and reliability for military, financial, healthcare, transportation and government applications.

UEFI-based data protection

Advantech's SSD SQFlash series products incorporate the UEFI standard and are seamlessly integrated with Phoenix UEFI technology to provide additional security protection. In addition to ATA secure erasure, SQErase also supports military erasure standards, including US Navy & Air Force, German VSITR, RCMP TSSIT OPS-II, and Single Pass Zeros and other multinational standards. SQErase provides an intuitive UI user interface and provides a series of erasure algorithms to ensure that deleted files cannot be recovered.

Leveraging Phoenix UEFI security technology, SQFlash products set new standards for data protection. The joint efforts of both parties aim to provide reliable security solutions to the world. Both Advantech and Phoenix are committed to providing excellent security solutions that comply with industry standards and exceed customer expectations. This collaboration marks an important step for Advantech in data protection in different industrial applications.

SSD comprehensive data security protection function

The security of SSD remains a focus for industrial applications. To this end, SQFlash products strengthen data protection through three levels. First, SQFlash SSD supports self-encryption. Supporting the latest TCG-OPAL 2.0 and AES-256 encryption standards, users can protect SSD data from unauthorized access.

The SQFlash solution, which is also FIPS 140-2 certified, also has excellent multi-user authentication capabilities, which helps protect end-users' private data.

Additionally, Advantech’s UUID-based flash lock helps SSDs authenticate with specific motherboards or devices. At the application layer, SQFlash can implement security functions such as write protection, cryptographic erasure, and military erasure through hardware design and software tools.

Finally, all SQFlash is compatible with the DeviceOn/SQ Manager software tool. Users can remotely monitor and manage solid-state drives anytime and anywhere.
