Sensor technology, come to Bosch: the new air pressure sensor is robust and reliable, not afraid of harsh environmental conditions

BMP585 has excellent liquid resistance

Ideal for various altitude tracking applications under harsh conditions

Excellent accuracy, low noise performance

Ultra- low power consumption, extending battery life

Bosch participated in the CES Consumer Electronics Show: Booth No. 16115; the "#来了Bosch" promotional campaign kicked off again

Barometric pressure sensors are a key component in wearable devices used for fitness tracking and other applications, allowing them to accurately measure altitude. At the CES® Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, Bosch Sensortec once again demonstrated its breakthrough innovation results and launched the new BMP585 air pressure sensor. The BMP585 is a robust and reliable air pressure sensor that can be used underwater and in harsh environments, such as in swimming wearables.

The BMP585 comes with a liquid-resistant gel cover for wearable devices exposed to water or other liquids, including salt water and chlorinated pool water from swimming pools. It includes all the features of Bosch’s existing BMP581 pressure sensor, delivering best-in-class accuracy while also providing the superior robustness needed to enable new use cases. Its extremely low power consumption helps extend battery life in wearables, hearables and portable applications.

“With the BMP585, OEMs don’t need to sacrifice performance to ensure device robustness – no more compromises! The sensor’s exceptional accuracy allows it to sensitively detect centimeter-level height changes, enabling precise monitoring in fitness applications It can even distinguish a single pull-up or push-up. At the same time, the sensor is very robust and reliable, and users can use it with confidence in any environmental conditions,” said Dr. Stefan Finkbeiner, CEO of Bosch Sensortec.

Worry-free and always ready for adventure: The BMP585 provides reliable map data for your hiking or running trip, including distance and elevation, to supplement GPS data and ensure accurate positioning and navigation.

The BMP585 is also resistant to water and chemicals, making it ideal for many industrial applications such as liquid level detection. Its sealed design also prevents dust from intruding, so it is also suitable for blockage detection in household appliances such as vacuum cleaners.

Best in class performance, ultra-low power consumption

The BMP585 is similar to Bosch's existing BMP581 and offers best-in-class performance. It has a relative accuracy of up to +/-0.06 hPa and a typical absolute accuracy of +/-0.5 hPa. The BMP585 has a typical temperature coefficient offset (TCO) of only +/-0.5 Pa/K and RMS noise as low as 0.08 Pa @ 1000 hPa (typical). The long-term drift over 12 months is only +/-0.2 hPa.

在1 Hz数据传输速率下,该传感器典型电流消耗仅为1.3 μA,能够显著延长电池续航时间。BMP585提供I2C、I3C和SPI数字串行接口

The BMP585 is available in a compact 9-pin LGA package with metal cover, measuring only 3.25 mm x 3.25 mm x 1.86 mm³, making it suitable for smart watches and other wearable devices.

Bosch will participate in the 2023 CES Consumer Electronics Show with the theme of "Sensor Technology, #ComeBosch":

As the global market leader in MEMS sensor solutions, Bosch will showcase a range of innovations for consumer electronics.
