The economy and market in 2019 are full of uncertainties, but the seemingly weak industry environment has brought greater opportunities to OPEN MIND and its hyperMILL® software. More and more manufacturing companies that once enjoyed an advantage with large volumes and low prices are being forced to transform and upgrade under the pressure of the market, and the demand for automation and intelligence is increasing. This also highlights more driving forces - the user demand for high-quality, high-value industries that we have always focused on and excelled in is becoming stronger.
In 2019, OPEN MIND achieved gratifying performance in China. As of the end of October, the annual cumulative sales had reached the highest level in the same period in history since the company was founded in 2007!
Occupy the professional commanding heights with innovation
Since creating the first CAD/CAM software for five-axis machining 25 years ago, OPEN MIND has been committed to the research and development of five-axis machining technology. HyperMILL software not only has multiple patents in this field, but has also been widely recognized in many industries around the world, especially in the fields of aviation and precision molds. In 2019, while we continue to deepen our professional strength and continue to strengthen our advantages in machining precision and complex parts such as impellers, blisks, and tire molds, we also provide customized machining solutions for the increasingly diverse needs of these high-value industries.
For example, in the construction project of an adaptive processing automation line for engine blades of a Chinese aviation engine company, our technical team worked closely with the machine tool manufacturer to automatically adjust the processing tool path based on the theoretical digital model according to the different shapes of each blank, thus realizing a fully automated and intelligent adaptive processing solution. Another example is that under the current trend of "lightweighting", aviation, automobile and other manufacturing companies are increasingly using composite materials. Among them, the processing efficiency and quality of lightweight honeycomb composite materials as fillers have always been a problem. For this reason, hyperMILL released a special solution of "blade cutting" that can achieve 6-axis linkage at this year's EMO exhibition. Different from typical milling, "blade cutting" uses blades instead of rotating tools to complete the processing and production of complex special-shaped workpieces with high efficiency and quality.
Think what you want and achieve greater value
Professor Chen Chunhua, a well-known management scholar, pointed out: "The essence of innovation lies in creating value for customers."
In 2019, our innovative R&D and subversive traditional strategies and processes have also received wide acclaim in user practice: from high-precision finishing strategies that set a new industry benchmark in the field of workpiece surface quality, to high-performance machining strategies that can save more than 90% of machining time in the field of aircraft structural parts machining, to connecting software with machine tool control systems to achieve 100% bidirectional synchronization of machine tool data, thereby achieving virtual machining solutions that simulate machining operations in software and remotely control machine tools. HyperMILL always thinks ahead of customers in terms of new requirements put forward by users in terms of intelligent manufacturing, digitalization, and industrial Internet of Things.
In addition to taking into account your needs in terms of process innovation, hyperMILL automated programming technology also reflects our deep understanding of user needs from a "people-oriented" perspective. In manufacturing and processing companies, programming has always been considered a very complex and tedious task, especially under the trend of small batches and customization. hyperMILL automated programming technology is the most mature product currently on the market. With its unique CPF (custom feature) function, it helps users extract the typical features of the required machined parts and generate prefabricated patterns. Users only need to make simple selections and settings to easily implement programming operations, without having to find other professional organizations for secondary development. The automated programming function can greatly reduce the workload of programmers and reduce the error rate. At the same time, it can also help companies better manage these technical knowledge, without having to rely on a certain programmer, effectively reducing the cost of later maintenance.
With the help of automated programming technology, we also hope to extend hyperMILL's expertise in machining from the five-axis machining field to the more demanding and widely used 2D and three-axis machining fields in 2020, to help more customers.
Build professional strength and remain steadfast
Many users choose us not only because of the strength of hyperMILL software, but also because of the problem-solving ability of the OPEN MIND technical team. One user commented: "We not only bought a set of software, but also hired a team of professional consultants."
In 2020, we will continue to strengthen our professional technical service advantages. In addition to continuing to provide customers with basic training on a regular basis, we will also add more advanced training open classes for subdivided fields, and hold open day activities with more industry partners to more comprehensively introduce the actual processing effects of solutions to users. At the same time, our technical team will also visit users more frequently and more deeply to understand user needs, solve process goals, and improve processing solutions.
In addition, in order to help cultivate talents in the industry and engage in the field of vocational education, in 2020 we will continue the steady and in-depth strategy of 2019, and adopt a "three-pronged" approach - continue to sponsor domestic vocational skills competitions; continue to deepen cooperation with vocational education institutions and colleges, and provide them with more curriculum construction and teacher training; implement a more people-friendly product pricing strategy in vocational colleges; and promote industry development with practical actions.
Technology leads innovation, and innovation enhances value. In 2020, OPEN MIND, which has spanned 25 years of development, will always stick to its original aspirations and forge ahead with unremitting efforts!
