Pfeiffer Vacuum COO Hugh Kelly and senior leaders from the company headquarters attended the celebration. After the new factory is put into operation, Pfeiffer Vacuum's production area in Wuxi will be twice the current size, enabling Pfeiffer Vacuum to better meet the needs of local customers and promote its strategic growth in the vacuum coating, semiconductor and other markets. The completion and opening of the new factory in Wuxi will undoubtedly become an important milestone in Pfeiffer Vacuum's development in China.

At the opening ceremony, Eric Taberlet, CEO of Pfeiffer Vacuum, was unable to attend due to work, but he also expressed his expectations for Pfeiffer Vacuum in the Chinese market through a video.
At the 2019 shareholders' meeting, Dr. Eric Taberlet, CEO of Pfeiffer Vacuum, proposed the company's eight strategic pillars and emphasized the importance of the Chinese market among them. As an important city in the Yangtze River Delta region, Wuxi has always been strongly supported by the government and has developed industries such as semiconductors, electronics and solar energy. The completion and launch of Pfeiffer Vacuum's new factory will not only expand Pfeiffer Vacuum's business scope in China and improve service quality, but also enable Pfeiffer Vacuum to be closer to the needs of customers in the Chinese and even Asian markets.
Hugh Kelly, Chief Operating Officer of Pfeiffer Vacuum, spoke on behalf of the board of directors: "Pfeiffer Vacuum plans to launch a new growth investment strategy worth 150 million euros worldwide, and the new factory in Wuxi is an extremely important part of it. After the new factory is officially put into operation, it will add dry pump production, production of the new leak test system ATC, and pump station assembly to the existing after-sales service. By introducing more industry-leading latest technologies and equipment, Pfeiffer Vacuum can better meet the needs of customers in China and even Asia."
Harrison Chung, General Manager of Pfeiffer Vacuum Asia, said in his speech: "Pfeiffer Vacuum plans to achieve double-digit growth in 2020, of which the Chinese market is an important factor. In the future, exchanges between China and the world will continue to be realized. As a member of the Asian team, Pfeiffer Vacuum China will continue to work closely with the Chinese market in the future and base itself on the long-term development strategy of the Wuxi Manufacturing Center."
Pfeiffer Vacuum Wuxi New Factory
Zheng Hong, General Manager of Pfeiffer Vacuum China, said: "The most important thing is not what we say, but what we do. The completion of the Wuxi factory shows our partners and customers our commitment to the Chinese market."
After the opening ceremony, Pfeiffer Vacuum organized customers, partners and media to visit Pfeiffer Vacuum's Plant 1 and Plant 2 in Wuxi.
One of the plants includes a logistics service center and a repair, overhaul and calibration center in China, serving Pfeiffer Vacuum's pumps, mass spectrometers, leak detectors and other products. It is fully equipped with equipment for disassembly, cleaning, and spare parts replacement.
Wuxi Plant 2 is mainly responsible for the production of localized Pfeiffer Vacuum products, with a long-term monthly production capacity of more than 50 units. It is worth mentioning that in order to provide Chinese customers with more cost-effective products, Pfeiffer Vacuum is implementing a localized procurement strategy, but at the same time, product testing is all done using black box testing, and all test procedures and data are directly provided by the French factory, fully meeting consistency requirements.
As the inventor of the turbomolecular pump, Pfeiffer Vacuum has been committed to increasing investment in R&D and innovation over the past 129 years, aiming to provide customers and the entire industry with innovative products and solutions that are at the forefront of the times. Since entering the Chinese market in 2007, Pfeiffer Vacuum's performance has maintained steady growth and has witnessed the strong development of China's economy along the way. To meet the needs of the Chinese market, Pfeiffer Vacuum provides a large number of high-tech, high-precision vacuum technologies, products and solutions. In order to promote the continuous development of China's vacuum technology, the company has joined hands with local leading companies, scientific research institutions and partners in other application industries to work closely. Pfeiffer Vacuum currently has more than 150 employees in China. With the start of operation of the new plant, Pfeiffer Vacuum will bring more value to Chinese customers and continue to deepen its commitment to the Chinese market.
