On September 5, 2024, WPG Holdings, a leading international semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market,
announced that its subsidiary Pinjia launched a 65W high power density power solution based on Infineon CYPAP212A1-14SXI and CYPAS212A1-32LQXQ.

Currently, consumers' increasing requirements for the performance of electronic devices are driving the rapid iteration and innovation of PC applications. In this process, users not only expect devices to have high computing power, but also have higher requirements for power efficiency, portability and charging speed. In response to this trend, WPG launched a 65W high power density power solution based on Infineon CYPAP212A1-14SXI and CYPAS212A1-32LQXQ, which can achieve efficient energy conversion and optimize the size and weight of the power module.

CYPAP212A1-14SXI (EZ-PD™ PAG2P) is a primary high-voltage startup controller that integrates a series of functions that can improve system performance, including high-voltage startup, PET receiver, low-side NFET gate driver, logic level gate driver, fault protection, etc. The device has a built-in x-cap discharge function and Vcc boost converter to support high-frequency operation applications, thereby improving the overall power density.
CYPAS212A1-32LQXQ is an integrated secondary controller with built-in SR and PD controllers, which can achieve high functional integration and reduce material costs. In addition, the device not only supports the USB PD 3.1 PPS specification to ensure wide device compatibility, but is also compatible with fast charging standards such as BC 1.2, Apple charging and QC 5.0 to meet various design needs of users.

This 65W high power density power solution adopts high-frequency ACF power architecture and integrates SR and PD functions simultaneously, which can provide customers with a highly integrated reference design, and also caters to the trend of high efficiency and miniaturization of modern PC power supplies. In addition, the solution also complies with the EuP Lot6 specification and low standby power consumption requirements, and has excellent energy-saving characteristics.
